Twenty people gathered in the pickleball gym... I heard the news on the way there and broke it to them.

Here in Savannah:

I'm here to report the response: a massive sigh of relief. Followed by excitement.

So, I understand the love for Joe Biden... because I share it. He's been a great Senator, a great VP, and now a great President. And now I praise him for doing what he thinks will be best to save our country. He's a hero, candidate or not.

But judging from the MANY people I speak to in real life (I'm not one of those people who say "no talking politics!"... I bring it up constantly) Joe Biden was probably NOT going to win in November. And everybody in that gym thinks Harris is going to kick trump's ass. The one or two trump supporters in our group were pretty much gasping "aw fuck!".

For the first time in months I'm feeling excited.

KAMALA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Especially my male Latino coworkers. Idk if it's sexism/racism or they just don't like the way she speaks. I will do what I can to try and get them to be more open to her, but they are stubborn asf

with the people I am tasked with turning out to vote? I can get every woman I know there. The men will have hangups and petty issues with her personally, but I can get the men too by focusing on project 2025.

and she said her group of friends have been texting and are very excited. The mom is in a resistance group since 2016 and many had disengaged (they were obviously still going to vote for Joe) but we’re texting about who should be VP,, if Kamala is the nominee.

My 95 yr old mom donated to Kamala as soon as she heard the news. My family text thread has been very positive regarding the news.

I am a big Joe supporter, but as I said on another thread, I had sequestered myself from any news (and DU) for several months. It was just too stressful, so into my bubble I went. I think I am ready to reengage and H and I will donating again. We were holding out until after the convention. I definitely feel renergized.

I think we have a much better shot now at winning in November. .

I suspect there are a lot of differing groups out there.

People I know are livid right now.
