I hate this. I've been disenfranchised. I am always going to resent every Democrat who called for President Biden to step aside.
I hate authoritarianism a great deal more. I hate Christian nationalism a great deal more. I hate the Republican Party and its inexcusable support of an inexcusable man a great deal more. And I hate Donald Trump everything he is, and everything he represents worst of all.
So whomever we nominate by whatever process, they'll have my full support.

(54 posts)Nothing would make me not vote against the orange fascist, but I am furious with the party elite - not only did they trash a decent man who righted the ship after four years of craziness, they did so publicly, in a way that validated the Republican's main message and undercut what Joe has accomplished. I am very concerned that they handed the keys to the White House and Congress to the Cons . . .

(3,386 posts)There is definitely LOTS of room for soul searching, criticism and after action analysis of this turn of events. But let's wait to focus on that until after the election. Let's take the House, expand our hold in the Senate and keep the WH.

(2,951 posts)by the big money donors in the Democratic Party. They robbed us of an incredibly successful, union focused, incumbent President due to their desire to have someone who looks better on TV.
That's the LITERAL definition of disenfranchised.

(586 posts)If so-called "party leaders", donors and media wanted to pull these shenanigans, they should have done this months ago.
We are literally down to weeks now and saying that's tight on time is the understatement of the decade.

(1,041 posts)those who did not, will see later why they should have.
Now, we know that Biden is still a fighter and a patriot.
But, imagine a different scenario where there was enough of a decline, that even in your mind, a change should be called for. Would you still call that disenfranchisement?
At what point is it no longer disenfranchisement?

(4,796 posts)If VP Harris and the Cabinet had invoked the 25th Amendment as a medical necessity, then I wouldn't consider it a disenfranchisement. But I didn't get a whiff of that happening.
