I voted for Biden to be my nominee. I fully respect Biden's choice to retire.
But how does this work? Is winner of the primary given the power to handoff his "spot" to someone else? Or does it automatically go their chosen VP candidate?
Or are we simply in uncharted territory? Can we "redo" all the primaries now?
So many questions.

they will vote for another nominee, probably but not necessarily, Biden's endorsed candidate. You should be able to go on your state's board of election's website to see who those people are. They were on your primary ballot.

(20,689 posts)I was a delegate in 2022 for the DFL State Convention last held in Rochester for Tim Walz. While he ran unopposed, I voted for him all the same. As I did for the other Consitutional offices.
Were I a DNC Delegate for Joe Biden and the nomination process was opened now that Joe has stepped down and his delegates released, I would vote for Kamala Harris for the endorsed nomination.
In the Primary, I voted for the Biden/Harris ticket, as there were some others on the ballot as well. A vote for Joe was also a vote for Kamala.

(6,958 posts)His delegates are her delegates. Releasing his delegates would be a separate move. If he doesn't do that, then they're hers, because they're the same ticket.
At any rate, the delegates committed to Biden are all hard core Biden supporters, so if he endorsed Kamala, then I doubt very many of them would vote for or support someone else, unless the billionaire donors step in to manipulate this. We'll find out, I just hope people have enough backbone to step up, look these people in they eye and tell them to take their money and stuff it up their ass.
