He was considering a run with republican Mitt Romney on a mixed ticket designed to appeal to middle grounders. It never got any traction. I guess he still harbors a fantasy about being elected and is grasping at straws. Expect to see other bizarre long shots come out of the woodwork until a candidate is officially selected.

That’s phrase is probably worthy of oxymoron status.

For Biden it’s the real deal. Manchin is a wannabe.

He also said (earlier today, it appears) that he wouldn't run for the Dem nom should Biden withdraw, for what it's worth.

So, we might want to take "sources close to" with a grain of salt. We seem to decide whether to accept them or not based on the content of their comments.

It's kind of a toss-up. Believe something Jake Tapper posts or believe something Manchin says (and, maybe later, hedges on)?

Oof, tough one.

Also agree on the long day. Historic, and kind of exciting in a welcome-to-a-new era way, but exhausting.

With him we could lose the White House, the Senate, have no chance of taking back the House & probably lose a few state legislatures as well.

And he's 76 years old - how is that an improvement?
