The Democratic Convention Is Open
Every delegate was chosen by a primary election or caucus in each state. They are almost all committed to Joe Biden, at least on the first ballot. The candidate that they are committed to can release them to vote any way they want, just as Nikki Haley did at the Republican convention and endorsed Trump. Biden, just as Haley did, can release his delegates and endorse Kamala Harris.
The delegates have been released by Biden to vote their conscience. The fact that Kamala Harris wins is a product of Democracy.
