Can you imagine Kamala Harris being sworn in by President Joe Biden?

I am right now...! And very soon I will be looking into ways that I can help make this become a reality.

Pass the torch, share the light!

but I think at least a small part of John Roberts might be pleased to do so, if only to rid himself of meddlesome pest Trump.

Trump, with an assist from Alito and Thomas (and, to a lesser degree, the other conservatives), has pretty much demolished the legacy of Roberts' court.

Might be a nice marker to set down to tell John Roberts to pound sand.

It's just tradition.

With the Roberts court being so lawless, it might be a nice move to deny Roberts the privilege of swearing in the new President.

The magas can cry and scream all they want. They don’t have the presidency this time, we have the National Guard.

In fact it happened in 1923. Calvin Coolidge was sworn in by his father a notary public and justice of the peace.

He was sworn in by Sarah Hughes, a Federal judge who served on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. The famous photo of his swearing in on the plane, with a bloodied, stunned Jackie Kennedy standing byLBJ and Ladybird.

I should have thought about this more (and/or had a little more coffee) before launching the post.

So I guess I'll update my imagination to have Biden present when Kamala is sworn in. With TFG nowhere in sight. Again.
