(34,296 posts)by the most corrupt SC in history and we can be guaranteed nothing Joe does will be ruled "official."
They really have this whole thing locked up, which is why we must get rid of the filibuster and increase the court.

(4,188 posts)and I think we all know which direction this fascist court leans. My original comment was supposed to be a shade tongue in-cheek about magats not thinking their dictator power play through, Im shocked that I havent seen a reply that their heads arent going to actually explode, Sheesh!!. President Harris wont be a dictator when she gets sworn in but anyone who doesnt think the court unleashed a potential dictator has their - head in the sand.

(1,948 posts)The Supreme Court set themselves up as the ultimate arbiter of what "official" acts are, on a case by case basis. This way they can decide anything illegal Trump does is official, and anything a illegal a Democratic president does is not.

(46,226 posts)I'll try one more time to explain it:
The immunity decision applies to criminal prosecutions. But not every unlawful action is a criminal act. Actions taken by presidents get overturned for being unconstitutional, or contrary to statutory law, or otherwise unauthorized all the time. It doesn't result in a criminal prosecution because it doesn't violate any criminal law. The courts can and will enjoin any action that a president takes that is unlawful but not criminal.
Lots of Trump's decisions were overturned or blocked by the courts while he was president. No one ever suggested he was guilty of a crime and he never suggested he was immunity from having the courts overturn or block those actions.
