how to treat trumpers

this is from a friend of mine.
posted with his permission

If you continue to support Trump I will believe that you are just like him in deed and action. I would never trust you to do fair business nor to demonstrate empathy to your fellow man. I will not seek you out for your opinion nor go out of my way to engage in conversation with you. You will be considered pariah and not worthy company. Trump is clearly exposed as the person he is and if you support and emulate him after this, I will consider you of a like mind. Also consider he has declared me an enemy and vermin and I will treat his ardent supporters as having that same view and act accordingly

They've been stuck in a cult. We could reduce some of the polarization in society by welcoming them out of that cult. When they're ready.

Nope. I do know some Trump supporters who are real assholes. Mean, angry, racist misogynists. But, I also know Trump supporters who are good folks (except for Trump support). I know them mostly as teacher peers. They are indoctrinated, yes, and unable to accept any information that contradicts their fictional version of what Trump is and what he stands for, but, outside of the political milieu, they donate to the poor, make sure that the neighborhood children are fed, and, despite their cult leader's teachings, advocate for fair treatment of immigrants and women.

They can't see the contradictions. It's a cult. At least with the one's I know, it's not something that we can counter with logic or threats of disassociation.

If it's the border crap, nothing new there. Not a huge new problem. Prices? Biden doesn't raise them. He lowers costs when he can. The real problem is huge tax cuts to multi-national corps that the gop always gives. Shuts them up.

Anyone who supports racism, misogyny, and sexual depravity is not a person I would associate with in my life. I don't need that garbage in my life.
