asking for donations to the Harris campaign? I have had 20 today, some saying there is a huge match if I give. I stopped my monthly donation to Biden on Sunday.
I gave a small amount to Harris yesterday and this started. It is really annoying!

(1,181 posts)Its why I stopped making phone calls for the Dems during Presidential election. Most people who answered said his was the 10th person who has called and said if anyone calls again they wont vote.

(35,075 posts)is really your best bet. lol. Reply Stop. That takes care of the same PAC texting you from 20 different numbers. However, now I'm worried that I overdid it with the blocking and I won't receive an invite to KH's next rally in Atlanta.

(36,669 posts)I joined a TX Women for Kamala Harris group and now I know about a Colin Allred rally in Houston this weekend. I haven't signed up for all the Harris County stuff yet but I probably should because I'm in a nearby county, but all the big rallies will be in Houston. You should be able to find a group that is specific to your state, and then hopefully they will post about all the rallies going on.

(35,075 posts)to a rally with VP Harris next Tuesday. So excited but still waiting to learn if I've been "approved."

(17,146 posts)I would not donate to a text message because it might be a scam.

(38,054 posts)Yep. And three from Mary Peltola since last night.
Her team needs to do a better job at understanding the Demographics.
Unless they are her constituent - they shouldn't be texting any black women Democratic Party members right now.
No two districts are alike - but I'm not inclined to give one penny to someone who won't vocally support VP Harris.
LeftInTX
(34,295 posts)They usually don't do by demographics because they're unreliable. They can limit them to her congressional district and Alaska, but I guess they aren't doing that.
I know someone named Kamala. VAN says she's Asian. She isn't. She was named after a family friend. Likewise VAN says I'm Hispanic. I'm not. I'm just married to one. VAN says my daughter is White. She's not. She's just married to a white dude....And on it goes.

(73,726 posts)ive had if for about 5yrs. i think i only donated through actblue once since then. ive gotten about a doz. had a bunch b4 that, too. i have been just replying w stop, but im starting to do report as junk.
im writing checks these days. im not about to let my phone get as junked up as my email. i rly wanted to keep my old .mac til i die, but im about to get a new 1.
Firestorm49
(4,548 posts)I will donate to whom I choose at my discretion. If I get 50 or more junk texts or emails daily, 90% are requesting campaign money. Unfortunately Ive sent most to junk as Im not a bank. As you all know, once you donate, youre on the list - your name is spread across the entire spectrum of candidates. Thats just how it works.
redstatebluegirl
(12,827 posts)That seems to work best.

(36,669 posts)for dems. Every now and then I'll support one, but mostly I just reply "stop".

(96,882 posts)The prospective matcher has the same contribution limit you do ($6,600) and anyone that dedicated would be giving the full amount regardless.
nb: the fact that a text mentions Harris doesnt mean its from the Barris campaign.
Rebl2
(17,742 posts)annoying. You give, then you get an avalanche of texts/emails asking for more, some from democrats I have never heard of from other states.
alarimer
(17,146 posts)And no one should ever donate via text message. It could be a scam.

(3,315 posts)I want to donate but I have spent a lot of time and effort getting off of mailing and call lists. I'm not going to open the floodgates again. The last time I donated generously the relentless slew of messages irked me no end. I have new phone numbers and email accounts and I want them to remain pristine.
I understand why this happens. However, I believe we will soon get to the point where the benefits of spamming are outweighed by the down sides.
