Sick of this racist shit.
One of my siblings topped his graduate class at an Ivy League College in the US. He won a full scholarship to that institution- came 11th in the effin world in GRE. We all earned our degrees. Eff all this racist DEI shit.

But, as long as conservatives persist in hamstringing education in furtherance of their disease belief system, weak minds will grasp for simplistic answers to complex questions that, in turn, encourage their inchoate resentments toward anything they're too fucking stupid to understand.

Well, Donny paid students at Wharton to write many of his papers. One professor thought Donny was incredibly stupid. This is fact, not conjecture, not fake news. Donny had to pay Wharton students so he could actually graduate and that was just in the middle of his class, not at the top as he has declared so many times. Again, more irrefutable facts.
So, having someone go in, pretend to be Donny and take an SAT exam sounds just like dumb Donny, a cheat, a fraud, an imposter.

(102,794 posts)That card reader lady, Marianne, in several of her videos she comes up with the truth coming out about everything. I have been calling this time the great comeuppance, about everything. This is the great revelation of our ills as a species and it will have a big kick around the globe.
I tend to think those readings were pretty close to what has happened so far.

I saw a lot of that directed at Maya. I see it directed at Kamala. The worst are those bellend Hotep types, the ones who call black women with white men 'bed wenches'.
I also saw it my whole life with my parents (white Swedish father, black Bajan mum) growing up in London, and I have seen it in my own life, albeit from certian women in the lesbian community of colour, especially some black studs (had one in London call ME a bed wench, ffs) and certain other lesbi afrocentric types. It was the worst, on balance, in the US, when we (me and my then GF, now wife, who is all Swedish, blonde, blue eyes) lived there whilst I read for my MBA in Los Angeles.

But when I moved to Massachusetts after college over time I was exposed to different common types of prejudice and could never understand why people felt that way. I still cant.
I look for honesty and integrity first and foremost. And then how do you treat others, whether they are considered to be high on the rungs of society or low on the rungs. If I see a difference in how people are treated thats a red flag.
Hating other people is learned, not innate. You see kids of different color who first meet stare at each other. Then after a few minutes they play like best friends. If only that didnt get corrupted by adults.
Kamala will try to bring people together just like Biden has tried to do, maybe better. We need it.
The alternative is to let TSF tear us apart even more and enjoy watching the destruction. I cant bear that.

I never got any advancement because of my race. I got my bachelor's and master's degree in engineering based on meeting all of the requirements - no one gave me a thing. We black folks had to be better in every aspect to try make the playing filed level to even compete. Maya said it much better than I could. But believe me, as a black person, I understand what she has saying as I have lived it just as she has.

(14,443 posts)This may sound particularly strange since I am not black, but I worked with several black women last year, one with a college degree, who did not know who John Lewis was. I met and spent a morning with this incredible man, and couldnt for the life of me understand that any American, let alone black American, would not know who he was or what he did. But I suppose that just reinforces the fact that some of us are political junkies and some are not, regardless of race or age or gender.

(53,544 posts)When there is a more competent/qualified person. Especially if they can provide more results.
I had volunteered at the county party to keep track of assigned election workers. I had the history of those that had worked in the past. I would regularly send in a spreadsheet to the county election board of those assigned and those still vacant.
There was a volunteer that headed the task of making calls to find poll workers. I had the forms for each position that had info about the polling place location. He maintained them in a binder.
Anyway he was considering not volunteering for that position as I was for my task. We had worked well together doing a great job. Such that we finished the work before the deadline and our Republican counterparts. I told him that if he was not volunteering for the upcoming 2020 election I would not either. We both agreed to do it one more time. I'm a white male and was 66 at the time. He was a black male and little older than me.
He was a strong Democrat and very active in his part of the city. He was an important contact for any candidate both city and state.
