(98,883 posts)ignorance, or perhaps cognitive decline, since in 2020 VP Harris did run for President.
I suspect that poster is coming from the dark side, and is probably getting worried, and the trump camp is.
I might add, they should be.
There's been quite an influx of drive-by right wing trolls lately. Probably the same person, tbh. I've seen some in a few threads I've replied to.
Seems like they're getting scared and desperate. As they should be.

(1,138 posts)They gave basically the same answer. It doesnt matter, she was the vp on the ticket, we knew when Biden was elected she would be president if anything went wrong. So we have essentially voted for her as president also. Now well just vote for her as president in reality. Do these people even think?
JohnSJ
(98,883 posts)was wrong. When she ran for President in 2020 she did go through primaries.
This was before she was selected as VP, and before we had a nominee.
If you notice I was referring to the comment made by the person who had his post removed because he was putting Harris down.

(1,138 posts)Depending on how you look at it, weve voted for her twice in a way. As Vice president the first time and vice president in this primary alongside Biden, most of us knew she would be president if something happened to Biden. Right? So shes been vetted and voted on. I am relieved that she has so much spunk! Ill be 70 in November so, my spunk is about gone. I think I used it all up between 2016 and now. I dont pay much attention to these people, they just want to start something.

(7,081 posts)That's ridiculous and makes me question the accuracy of the polls, especially since Biden was down by one. Surely someone looked at that data and said there had to be something wrong with the factoring.

(2,248 posts)Polling was far less reliable back then (well more inconsistent) and The Literary Digest put out a massive poll of their own (2.38 million people participated in the poll) and it had Alf Landon beating FDR with 57% of the vote and nearly 400 electoral votes.
So, no one really knew what to expect?
As the results came in, Maine went to Landon and then Vermont went to Landon ... ushering in what some thought might be a massive landslide for Landon.
Those were the only two states Landon won. In terms of electoral votes, it remains the largest margin of victory since the largely uncontested race of 1820.
So, the FDR campaign joked, "As Maine goes, so goes Vermont..." lol

(24,265 posts)There was a good bit of denial going on because we were trying to stay positive and we all love Biden so much. I live in Michigan, when I saw Trump +7 here is was shocking and I knew Joe was going to have a tough time making up all of that when every speech was going to be gone over with a fine toothed comb for any misspeaking.
Joe still could have won, but he would have had to be flawless going forward. One more gaffe or bad performance and he was going to have a tougher time.

(7,081 posts)Doesn't she have a more productive way of earning a living? She can't win, and if Trump does, everything she and her party supports goes down the toilet. So why bother, except to grab off a share of whatever pie they're getting. What a worthless, who cares effort.
Kennedy drawing votes indicates a bigger problem with people's thinking than voting for the orange headed buffoon does.

(878 posts)She seems to surround herself in a bubble where likeminded, naive individuals hype her up as some incredibly important candidate who's standing up to the elites in both parties.
She (and her enablers) vastly overestimate her significance in mainstream politics. Unfortunately, she somehow does have enough support (even if it's very little) to earn the title of "unnecessary spoiler candidate". Same goes to Cornel West
ick.
