Many of us have come from the depths of despair to the top of the world. There will be many bumps in the road between now and November. And the Republican ugly attacks are just scratching the surface. This year, they'll go for a record low. Trump will question Kamala's birth certificate, while J.D. Vance will claim she's Hitler's illegitimate granddaughter.
And while they wallow in their slime, Kamala will be out there running up the score. I can feel a blue tidal wave in the very core of my being. I know I'm not alone in feeling this.
But, we can't stop working. Knock on doors, work on phone banks, hand write postcards, and keep doing everything you've been doing. In the meantime, there are teams of Democrats out there fighting the vicious voter suppression tactics the Republicans are using.
I feel we are now going on with joy in our hearts. This time, truth, justice, freedom, and Kamala will win. Although I'm an agnostic, this is a fight of good vs evil. And good is going to triumph "big time."

(9,148 posts)The polls are moving in our direction quickly. Simon Rothenberg was saying that he was actually quite surprised by the movement. He had expected it to take a couple weeks to show up. Mark my words, the intensity on our side is going to make this a big blue win.

(12,801 posts)...we need to act like we're done by 5% points from here on out. Complacency and a false sense of momentum will be our downfall if we don't fight like our Democracy depends on it. Because it certainly does.

(20,897 posts)We will be doing the work.
Well over 100,000 have signed up to be volunteers and that number will only grow in the coming weeks leading up to the DNC in Chicago. The excitement in the air is something the MAGAts will find difficult to extinguish as they spread their doom & gloom to our FIGHT For Freedom.
The more Kamala Harris and Democrats running for office up and down the ballot talk about that and PROJECT 2025 in social media and elsewhere, the more voters are going to be turned off. Especially women! They are fired up for sure!

(15,425 posts)The thing I am most concerned about is the voter suppression and intimidation tactics playing out in a number of states. These billionaire GOP puppet masters are pulling out all the stops to get their $5 trillion tax cut.
So on the one side, we have the raw greed of a few billionaire parasites and Wall Street people campaigning on fear and hate.
On our side, we have pretty much all the GenZ, Millennials, LGBTQ, women and unions. Once more people become aware of Project 2025's intent toward Social Security and Medicare, we will get a majority of seniors - myself included, though I have been a Democrat decades. But if I was not, all I'd need to swing blue in a big way is to hear about what the billionaire GOP puppet masters want to do with programs I will shortly be depending on to live.
And middle class taxpayers? Once they become aware that the giant tax cut planned by the GOP for billionaires and corporations will raise their taxes by $2,500 or so every year, they will swing blue in a big way.
And now we have Vance saying that rape and incest are 'inconvenient.' Inconvenient? Fuck. And his asenine assertion that the votes of women who have no children should not count as much as the votes of women with children? This guy is CREEPY WEIRD.
The Harris coalition is going to be huge and will cross all demographics. She is a winner!
The only thing Trump has EVER been successful at is failing - at everything he has ever done.

(5,482 posts)it's hard to feel that optimistic. Hearing all of the 'f' words shouted by people driving by, because of my yard signs, takes its toll.
All I'm saying is, while I fully share your enthusiasm, I also recognize that the battle will be a bitter one.

(448 posts)I had some business travel this week. Texas, Arizona, Nevada. While I never ever mix politics with business, I could clearly hear others in the offices say Kamala every now and then. And they were always smiling.
She is going to get the young people out to vote. Ive said all along, the key to a total landslide was to get those tired of trump voting for Democrat. She is going to do that. I believe shes going to have a very positive message and that certainly resonates. If she chooses Shapiro as VP, PA is guaranteed.
I remain uneasy at the process that got us here, but am very excited with the result.

(5,361 posts)And we will! Some of us are energized by seeing success. For some of us, seeing possibilities, even probabilities, of a blue tsunami fires up the will to fight even harder, not complacency. I'm feeling fired up and ready to go! Let's win this thing BIG!

(10,180 posts)My spirit is SO elevated!
Recent events have increased my physical energy level so I'll be able to phone bank (as I did in 2020 and 2022). There's a great grassroots (but very, very organized) group here in CA where we call voters in swing dates for congressional candidates.
I gave $25 last week to V.P. Harris' campaign! I'm on a budget so I gave what I could.
I can't imagine ANYONE on DU becoming complacent.......All hands on deck!
