I understand a VP pick getting a battleground state in striking distance

Like PA or Michigan. But does a VP pick regardless of who it is really change the minds of say, young men who have already decided they are voting Trump?

Should that prioritize picking Josh Shapiro or Gretchen Whitmer?

I am not convinced Arizona will vote Kelly as VP over Trump as President

2. If one is convinced that a VP pick changes sufficient votes to swing outcomes

then would it be better to pick one which moves a certain demographic present in multiple swing states rather than many demographics in one certain swing state?

Kelly = military which works against him with GenZ but better with old white men. (Sorry)
And Shapiro being Jewish (not much of an issue) but I worry it will turn off Muslims.
Also Shapiro’s history of being PRO school vouchers is a problem with MOST people. It polls poorly.

4. I think Beshear or Cooper are probably the top of the list

To be honest, for the reasons mentioned above.

They have the best chance at undecided swing state voters who are wary or Trump, aren’t liberal but aren’t particularly ideological either.

On that alone, I'm thinking Cooper.

Smooth southern lawyer type who knows how to talk to Southerners. It'll help in NC and Georgia.

The goal is to not hurt the ticket and select someone capable of being president – that’s it; no minds will be changed.
