The right-wing activist who helped shape the U.S. Supreme Court objected to President Joe Biden's three proposals for reform Monday.
The president called for Congress to pass a constitutional amendment that would undo the court's ruling on Donald Trump's immunity claims, limit justices' terms to 18 years and impose binding ethics rules to address the erosion of public trust in the court.
But judicial activist Leonard Leo objected to all three measures.
No conservative justice has made any decision in any big case that surprised anyone, so lets stop pretending this is about undue influence," Leo said in a statement. "Its about Democrats destroying a court they dont agree with."

Leonard, Leonard, Leonard its not about disagreeing with the Conservative justices who lied to a Senate Committee nor is it about failure to recuse due to bribes nor is it about Amy Coney Barretts snap appointment in an election year.
It is about the Constitution of the United States of America.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

so I imagine that what Leonard Leo is saying is that we shouldn't be surprised when the conservative Judges fabricate or twist evidence to achieve the objectives they want.

(10,467 posts)I think the presidential immunity ruling surprised a lot of constitutional scholars and a lot of other fair-minded people.
The Dobbs decision came as a bit of a surprise, considering all 3 of Trump's "picks" said Roe v Wade was established precedent during their confirm hearings.
That's just 2. There are more.
We may have suspicions about the motives of the right-wing shills on the court, but you don't really know how they will rule until they do.
There should have been some guardrails put on the SCOTUS years ago. It's just open season for corruption. How can that be right?

(30,085 posts)About the unelected court? I mean, they all lied about not overturning Roe, so, yeah, it was not what they said they'd do. Being surprised is actually just confirmation that we knew they were lying all along.
