Progressive filmmaker Michael Moore on Monday unveiled his battle plan to win the 2024 presidential election with an article titled, "Now, We Crush Trump: 100 Days to a Better World."
Moore begins by documenting the massive jolt in enthusiasm that has greeted Vice President Kamala Harris's entrance into the 2024 presidential campaign at the top of the Democratic ticket.
"A euphoric nation exploded in a joyful belief that finally the promise of the American Dream was no longer just a 'promise' nor a 'dream' but a roaring reality that immediately took off like a rocket," Moore writes of Harris' candidacy. "And each day this week has seen a new record set for a Presidential campaign."
He then goes on to list off the massive fundraising, volunteer signups, and new voter registrations that took place in the wake of Harris ascending as the likely Democratic nominee as evidence that Democrats are gearing up to deliver a final blow to former President Donald Trump's political ambitions.

Iḿ not saying he was necessaily correct, but he wasnt a fair weather friend either.
And Iḿ sure the Harris Campaign is happy to have him on their side.

(3,138 posts)He's been studying politics a long fucking time, and he isn't stupid. I also think he's got a better bead than most on the rust belt voters who made the difference in 2016, and will likely decide this one too.
I'm glad he's feeling optimistic.

I say FO to Michael Moore.
GD Racist .. said Pres Obama would only be known for being the first Black President.
Michael Moore: 'Obama will be remembered as the first black president, and that's it'

You think Kamala Harris is going to listen to anyone who says Shit like that?

(3,138 posts)That isn't an endorsement of everything he's ever said. He didn't predict Trump's win in 2016 by accident - he was wise to the fact that Trump had appeal for union types in states like MI. He said a lot of things that year which were dismissed as crazy, and turned out to be right.
I don't think Harris is going to hire him for her campaign, but I absolutely think she'd be interested if he was sounding the alarm.

(19,156 posts)Remember "not a dime's worth of difference"? (M. Moore, exhorting his followers to vote for Nader instead of Gore in 2000. How did that work out?)
It's nice if he's on our side for a change. But I don't exactly consider him dependable.

Hes a fair weather friend. I used to respect Moore but hes shown himself to be the worst kind of ally, one who runs away when things get tough.
I dont care what his plan is.

(29,078 posts)unleashed on the good people of Palestine." Ah, the Israeli/Palestine conflict is Biden's personal fault, so easy to fix, personally.
Same as Hillary totally personally did the Iraq war by herself (not John Kerry or John Edwards or any other Democrat who voted the same way, ONLY Hillary because ... because ... Goldman Sachs) and was going to do WWIII and kill everybody for fun.
Moore: "Can anyone with a conscience vote for someone who led us on to war in Iraq?" "Can you .... assure me you're convinced Hillary will not take us 2 war?" "How many families of Iraq's dead have you said 'I'm sorry' to?" (Hillary, of course, was personally responsible for all bad things in American since the '90s, it goes without saying.)
That's the guy anyone should personally listen to?

No one is listening to him and his identity politics bullshit in the Harris Campaign.
He's not part of the plan.

(1,510 posts)He is a shrewd political analyst and a political progressive. He strained every sinew to get Joe Biden over the line in 2020.
Fahrenheit 9/11 was a masterpiece.
Interestingly he is the one figure who can attract a barrage of negatives both here and in Freeperville.

(1,510 posts)Fair enough, you can hold that against him.
But Hillary canvassed for the incomparably worse Barrry Goldwater.
At a time like this it is vital that *all* anti-Trump/pro-Kamala operatives unite like a bar of steel.

(1,510 posts)If you followed his recent output you will see that he repeatedly refers to Joe as 'the most progressive president in my lifetime'.
He strained every sinew to get Joe over the line in 2020. Arguably he was outcome determinative: he is a highly influential operative and it boiled down to 40,000 odd votes in swing states.
This is not a time for dissension or factionalism: all pro-Harris/anti-Trump elements simply have to stick together.
