(202) 514-3847
This number connects to the DOJ civil rights division that handles real time reports of voter intimidation & other form of suppression. If you dont think the wingnuts will fuck with you at the polls, think again.

(98,883 posts)Also, the way bureaucracy works is that it is usually not fast.
The best way to avoid issues is first make sure your registration is up to date, and do this NOW while there is time to correct any errors. If you can vote early, DO IT. If you can vote by mail, DO IT.
Then follow up to make sure your vote was received and counted.
For those whose states do not allow early voting, and vote by mail, assume the worst, and don't plan anything else on that day. get to the polls early in the day, bring any proper identification you need to identify yourself, and of course if you are hassled or prevented from voting report it as the OP said.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
