I can't help but notice that Israel is going all John Wick on the neighborhood, and they've effectively declared war on Iran, Hezbollah and the houthies. I think things have escalated beyond making peace at this point, most likely we'll be in for a large war in the middle east and might need to finally deal with the Iran problem for this to end.

(13,709 posts)that WE should have to deal with it at all. It's Israel's own damn fault for taking it all to new levels, not ours. Let them deal with it,

(3,000 posts)Israel is our major ally in the middle east and they have nukes. Letting them go it alone means they might use said nukes if they're gonna lose.

(13,709 posts)want my grandsons being dragged into a war that Israel is escalating. Just like Iraq, this is getting to be more than it started to be, and they are responsible for it.
Anyway, they aren't the only ones with nukes there.

(3,000 posts)Is a good way to describe it. The little escalations get bigger and bigger until it's too big to let it go.

(18,456 posts)Netanyahu will rejoice at the opportunity to drag the USA into an all out war in the Middle East.
This will deflect any media attention away from Bibi the instigator and his popularity that resides in the dumpster.

(68,822 posts)So, then Israel attacked Hamas and now they're being blamed for that, too.
I'm not a fan of Netanyahu, but exactly what is Israel allowed to do? I think taking out the leader of Hamas was a reasonable approach.
Or is Israel just supposed to let Iran annihilate them? Would that assuage the guilt of Americans who can't deal with the fact that our nation is built on genocide and slavery? That's our problem. Let's not project.

(3,000 posts)Unfortunately, this is all gonna have to come to a war that redraws "acceptable behavior" for the parties involved.
I agree with taking out the Hamas leader, but they also just took out Hezbollah 2nd in command and a Iranian top guard member. Iran cannot look the other way on this, they must retaliate. It's like if someone took out Blinkin or something. It would be an act of war.

(68,822 posts)Iran's insertion of themselves into this conflict reminds everyone that Israel is a tiny country surrounded by big countries that want to destroy it.
Since when did we stop rooting for the little guy.

Much like John Wick Israel was trying to mind its own business and the terrorists decided to fuck with them. As Mr Wick's assailants found out, they picked a fight with the wrong party.
