In fact, isn't it the most well known historically black college? I mean if Trump's claim that Kamala Harris is ashamed of, or hiding her African American heritage, were true you would think that she would be a little more subtle than going to Howard University:

Also, if attend Howard University was just an oversight of youth, then you would think that she would not give a commencement speech at Howard University in 2022 talking about how it was "good to be home."

None of them are mutually exclusive.

(10,924 posts)Kamala grew up unable to play with some of the neighbors kids because she was black. She was one of the first in CA to experience busing for integration in school. She attended many civil rights marches with her mother as a child.
At law school, she served as president of its chapter of the Black Law Students Association. She's a lifetime member of the NAACP
She was the first Black woman in California to be elected district attorney. She became friends with Obama in 2004. She was the first notable backer of Obama from CA in 2007 and campaigned for him in Iowa.
As DA & AG she fought to address racial disparities in the criminal justice system - in terms of application of the law, policing reform, fairness, incarceration, help when they got out of prison, etc, etc. She's carried those efforts on through her time in Washington.
She was known as the 2nd black woman in US history to be elected Senator. She's a member of Congressional Black Caucus. She's a member of The Links, an invitation-only social and service organization of prominent Black American women.
As Senator, she introduced a bill to make lynching a federal crime.
She supported voting rights and other civil rights causes in the Senate and White House.

Kamala & her father:

The whole Trump narrative of today is a racist scam trying to demean her.

(1,791 posts)I'm about six years older than Harris. I remember those days, when she and I were growing up. They were tough times, and anyone who has risen as high as Kamala Harris, who has done as much to help others as she has, should be praised to the stars and back.

These "just turned black" claims are completely insane.
That said., I'm old enough to remember when the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth claims were shocking and scandalous, and then in three weeks, they were considered true by pretty much every GOPer. So, we need to hit back hard.

Never mind how her childhood photos make it clear that she definitely has a claim to blackness:

That second picture slays me. The look says, 'I will eat that camera if you don't get it out of my face.'
