I'm 100% behind any VP that Harris chooses. I'm no longer going to advocate for or against any potential

Last edited Fri Aug 2, 2024, 12:42 PM - Edit history (1)

VP pick. I fully trust Harris and her vast team to make a superb, winning choice.

I have made my concerns as well as my preferences clear over the past 12 days, and I am now, at this point, choosing to withdraw from further debate.

I am over the moon with VP Harris and her very high chances to beat the shite out of the Motherfucker in the Electoral College.

Early voting starts in just 50 days in some States, and I am going into all out general election mode for Harris within my sphere of influence outside of DU.

Although I think he’s a solid Democrat, I would hope we don’t go low key like in 2016 with a Tim Kaine type. Super Democrat, but didn’t add much.

You always bolster your points with facts and reasoning, even when so many unfortunately respond with specious charges of antisemitism. I hope the divisions created by some don't raise their head during the general election and people can follow your lead.

how smooth the transition
how unified everyone seems to be
how organized their roll out has been
the money raised
the shift in the polls
the 170,000 new volunteers
so many excellent VP candidates
Campaign has only been going 11 or so days and Trump's buying ads in NC ...

Realistically, how much better could one have scripted it?

I'm still pinching myself ... when I'm not on social media kicking the snot out of the MAGAts

With that said, we're in a really tough fight.
Can't take anything for granted no matter what the lead is.

It's ok. All the others are fine, too. And I'm sure the VP and her team are weighing all the factors.

But Pete is practically the first politician I feel a little bit of fandom/investment in when fandom and emotional investment is something that should never be placed on politicians as a rule. Didn't even experience that with Obama, and I was young back then. So, that's saying something.

Just really hope he's President someday. But, I know how this country can be.

I’ve never “fangirled” like this before over any other candidate in history, let alone a member of the cabinet. Pete is just that special. His charisma has that effect on people! 🔥

And yes, he’ll be an AMAZING President in 8 years! 💙🇺🇸

I meant (and will edit it to 'whichever' and add candidate for clarity) whichever VP candidate now comes an implied 'VP') Harris chooses

I can understand the confusion.

I was not saying ....... whatever 'VP Harris' chooses

if so I would have used 'whomever'

Hope that clears it up.

It was super late my time (Stockholm) when I put up the OP and I was exausted from multitasking deep into the night.

Cheers

We need to trust the campaign to examine all the contenders and make the right choice.

For the record I have always found your posts well researched and informative even when I disagreed with you. It is a shame that this topic has become so toxic.

(Though I like any of the choices being put up. They're all strong for different reasons.).

I can NOT believe how positively the news cycle has turned for Dems. It's beautiful.

Trump Team really fucked things up. How do you stomp good will into the ground like he did after his shooting? By being, at his core, the fucked up ding dong that he is.

I truly hope Harris can keep this up and run a smooth and exciting campaign for election!

It is a question about dictatorship and democracy. If there is democracy, we can always discuss our differences between policies, taxes, Gaza policy and so on without killing each other. If there is dictatorship, you can forget about it. It is Trump worship all the time or incarceration. If there are are Gaza protesters, they will be deported. You pledge allegiance to the dictator. Period. By the way, all these Genocide Josh and other protests are bullshit. Josh Shapiro or Joe Biden are not for genocide. It is a tough situation out there and some policies misfire and they have to work through them. Do not kid ourselves. Both Netanyahu and Hamas are really bad. There are no angels there. Joe Biden has a tough job. Never forget, Hamas attacked on Oct 7th. Netanyahu has overreacted, the radical he is.

What other option is there? It's not like anyone cares what random Democrats on discussion forums want, after all.

So, she's going to choose who she chooses. That has always been how it would go. I don't understand the chatter about it, frankly.
