(13,003 posts)When the SS agent threw his shoes off the stage, the lifts fell out. They looked to be almost an inch. Also, the two inch thick heels on the same shoes were noticeable too........If your heel is already almost all the way out of the shoe, it wouldn't take much for them to come off...

It was courageous of her to withdraw. She had to know it would draw a firestorm of criticism like the above, but she was strong enough to prioritize her own well-being in the face of ignorant nonsense.
Not only that, but as a gymnast if she wasn't confident in her ability to perform her routines, she would risk career-ending injuries or worse.
