Trump goes low as Harris gains groundIn a succession of crude social media posts, Trump called Harris low IQ, dumb and lacking mental capacity.

If anyone thinks this is going to play well with women, girls, girl dads, or everyone who are not misogynists, they have another thing coming. Trumpworld has completely lost control of their candidate..

Knew how much of a Shit Mouth bigot he is. That's why they voted for him.

(13,538 posts)Some of them were under the impression he was a 'great businessman" because thats the image they'd seen on TV for years. Some thought "it takes a businessman to run the govt!!" Some thought he'd "change" once he got into office (like most presidents do). Some thought he'd make "great trade deals"
The people I know of who have dumped him thought one or more of those things. They didnt vote for him because he was an asshole. I've known these people most of my life so I believe what they tell me.
I just hope that EVERYONE knows some trump voters who have left him. Because if its seen by many those votes add up. And in the battleground states EVERY SINGLE VOTE counts whether its a vote FOR Harris or a trump vote NOT cast
LuvLoogie
(8,815 posts)and tax cuts for the rich. Very bigly he campaigned on those things. His supposed "business acumen" was just cover for the anti immigrant/muslim/BLM fear-mongering. The economy ALWAYS does better under Democrats. They know this. It's a fucking mask. Just like Jeezuz Beard piety is a mask for all kings of bigotry.
Cutting programs that go to marginalized people has been racist code since at least Nixon. They left trump, not because he was a racist fuck, but because they saw that he was no longer effective in carrying out the Atwater, Gingrich, Reagan agenda. They might dump trump, but they'll still vote for Blackburn, Abbott, Desantis, Greene, Boebert...
The whole of the GOP campaigns on trumpism, which is racist at its core, "plausible" deniability notwithstanding.

TwilightZone
(28,836 posts)If the million ignorant, abhorrent, and unethical things he's done and said haven't turned people off, I don't think a continuation of that behavior is going to make them suddenly have an epiphany. We always insist that his latest outrage just has to be the final, fatal one, for voters, but that's seemingly never the case. His supporters don't care, and the rest of us turned on him long ago.
He knows turnout is the key, as do we, and we just have to motivate our side to outvote theirs. I think we fixate way too much on Trump here, but the campaign understands that we need a balance between attacking Trump and motivating the left and left-leaning independents. People need reasons to vote for us and not just against Trump. Clearly, there are plenty, but we need to ensure that we get them across.
He also has no clue how to run against Kamala, so he's going with the tried-and-true. A lot of what he's saying is just repeating stuff he was saying four years ago when she was picked as the VP candidate.
Example from 2020:

No, it's just false bravado. If there really was some big conspiracy, he wouldn't be talking about it publicly.
Sky Jewels

After reviewers had more time to review the book's research and conclusions, more significant criticisms began to appear.[12] Nicholas Lemann, writing in Slate, said that later reviews showed the book was "full of mistakes ranging from sloppy reasoning to mis-citations of sources to outright mathematical errors."[12] Lemann said that "Unsurprisingly, all the mistakes are in the direction of supporting the authors' thesis."[12]
According to a 1996 response by former American Psychological Association president Donald Campbell, only ten of those who signed were actual experts in intelligence measurement.[20] The Southern Poverty Law Center reports that 20 of the signers were recipients of funding from the white-supremacist organization the Pioneer Fund, including Gottfredson herself.[19]
In subsequent years, both the substance and the interpretation of this letter have received widespread criticism from the scientific community.
Criticism by Stephen Jay Gould
edit
Stephen Jay Gould wrote that the "entire argument" of the authors of The Bell Curve rests on four unsupported, and mostly false, assumptions about intelligence:[13][28]
Intelligence must be reducible to a single number.
Intelligence must be capable of rank ordering people in a linear order.
Intelligence must be primarily genetically based.
Intelligence must be essentially immutable.
In a 1995 interview with Frank Miele of Skeptic, Murray denied making each of these four assumptions.[29]

Trump is one too talk.
Trump likes to boast how well he did in college.
Michael Cohen, his lawyer at the time, is on record saying he sent letters warning Fordham University not to publish Trump's college transcripts.

There is no public record that he made any dean's list, etc.
There are reports that Trump required visual aids to understand complex concepts in the White House

It was a rainy day in March, and the press had gathered at his ranch outside Midland to watch some cattle roping. When one of his hands mentioned to him that the reporters were getting restless, good ol boy Williams tried to make light of the situation by comparing bad weather to rape: If its inevitable, he said, just relax and enjoy it. After that comment appeared in print and went on to make national news, Williams twenty-point lead over Ann Richards plummeted, and she went on to beat him by a hair.
