I work with a bunch of knuckle dragging mouth breathers and I will subtly voice my opinion in a polite manner when they all get together and spew their crap. So all of the sudden Im getting emails and text messages from the felons campaign. Ive tried the stop and unsubscribe stuff but still getting them. I would block the number for texts but they come from different numbers. Any suggestions on stopping them? I love my job and there are good people there, so Im not going anywhere and wouldnt give them the satisfaction of making me quit. I would maybe say something to HR but I cant technically prove it but it is the only place I really have to deal with Neanderthals.

(374 posts)I used to get mailers from whacko Repukes. So I sent them Monopoly money. They stopped soliciting me.

(1,213 posts)These jokers only start texting you from another number because you've let them know that a live body is on the other end of that number.
Forward texts to 7726, and then block the sender's number. That's the only thing that works.
With emails report as spam, and then block the sender.

(1,109 posts)Mine allow me to set up filters based on key words like "donate", "campaign", "election","Republican", "GOP", or the name of the candidate. The filter automatically transfers the incoming message or email to the junk/spam folder and I don't have to mess with it....not even swipe left. See if you can find a filter to use. (Ask the nearest 7th grader to help if it's beyond your technical skills.

(126,305 posts)It's because some organizations don't follow up on the unsubscribe lists on a regular basis.
What I found that did work is to hit the reply key, write a short note explaining that you tried to unsubscribe but still are receiving their spam, and then including an attachment with a photo of Melania in one of her "artistic" poses from her modeling days (you know which photos and you're safe since it isn't obscene). I was removed from the mailing list immediately.
Some prudish secretary did not want those photos popping up on their screen while at work.

(1,213 posts)They see that as an 'active' target.
Report them as spam and then block the phone number or email address. That's the only response that works.
A MAGA idiot transposed some of the digits in their phone number, and I started getting GOP texts. They did not and would not stop until I quit responding to them and simply reported as spam & blocked.
Now I hear zero from them.
Note: To report text spam, forward the offending message to 7726.
