Related: the most common occupations for small dollar donors to Kamala are teachers and nurses.
As if they haven't done enough already! They're stepping up big time.

(44,346 posts)We are very fortunate in our community to have outstanding teachers and Nurses. We (All Citizens of America) couldnt get by without them.

(24,156 posts)If so, thank you for your service.
It was when maga ignored cheato's disgusting treatment of McCain that I knew they were so far gone that there was no saving them.

(44,346 posts)But Trump says Im a sucker and a loser, so Ill just have to vote accordingly and donate money accordingly. Hell, he could have faked honoring McCain but maybe he thought his followers would disapprove. The disdain for him and them is limitless.

(14,419 posts)No vaccines, No PPE's, No masks....Covid ran rampant in America and we served our community with tremendous risk....Many Nurses even died in line of duty ...

(31,044 posts)especially the way they act as if teaching is a barely professional occupation. it's infuriating and so wrong, as well as counter productive. A well educated populace is going to accomplish more good, pay more taxes, and none of that happens without a teacher!

(75,552 posts)Known lots of teachers & have 3 family members (plus 2 of my wife's best friends) that are/were nurses.
Then, I started substitute teaching when I retired. So, LOTS of teachers.
They're definitely ok by me.

(31,044 posts)your experience in the hospital setting will be determined by the nurse. they are generally really great in my experience, especially during the births of my 4 children. Who would any of us be without a teacher? My family is full of them and that makes me proud.

(22,070 posts)My niece is a nurse, and I couldn't be more proud of her. My favorite aunt was a nurse, too, and so was her daughter, my first cousin.
I wanted to be a nurse when I was a teenager but decided I was too squeamish. (I used to have a very intense reaction to the sight of blood, among other things.)
Nurses are awesome!

(19,642 posts)social workers. I cant think of anythings more important than the education and well being of school children and those pursuing further education as well as our health. I think our nurse practitioner for non emergency care and nurses in hospitals carry the biggest load and are the best!

(72 posts)Same name, same birth year, same profession as our First Lady. Our relatively new union allows us to finally be called professors and even make ranks (I'm adjunct associate professor after 31 years teaching in my SUNY, State University of New York, community college). Just got the the entire RNC platform copied and put a summary of it together with some help from AI emphasizing the hyperbolic language and connections to Project 2025. I want to spread it around and start registering students to vote NOW rather than later. We live in a blue oasis in bright red upstate New York in the Finger Lakes region. I've been posting everywhere, the RNC platform is chilling enough and everyone should read it. We have strict learning outcomes for our students mandated by SUNY that involve DEI, critical thinking, and research among other things. It could all go away if we don't GOTV. Here are excerpts from the education section of the RNC platform with the hypey language emphasized:
6. Knowledge and Skills, Not *CRT and Gender Indoctrination*
Republicans will ensure children are taught fundamentals like Reading, History, Science, and Math, not *Leftwing propaganda*. We will *defund schools that engage in inappropriate political indoctrination of our children using Federal Taxpayer Dollars*.
7. Promote Love of Country with Authentic Civics Education
Republicans will reinstate the 1776 Commission, promote Fair and Patriotic Civics Education, and veto efforts to nationalize Civics Education. We will support schools that teach America's Founding Principles and *Western Civilization*.

Add me to the list of "suckers and losers". I served my country proudly, ready to go during the Iran Hostage Crises. My then-husband was going to be there for sure, me only if we needed more bodies. I hate Trump and all he stands for, all Republicans in truth. Can't stand a one of them.
