Watching cnn. He is a great human being.
I know it is right to pass the baton to Kamala. No doubt.
But he is a great president. He will go down in history as one of the greatest.
Luv ya Joe!

(5,001 posts)saying that "Best President" thing far too publicly and too frequently may have angered some folks who made their reps in other Administrations.
How much that resentment and jealousy led some people to denigrate the President, and make his leaving the ticket come to pass, will be the stuff of conjecture and the pages of tell all biography in years to come.
I have some thoughts...

(20,724 posts)How lucky we were that President Obama chose him, that we all worked to help them get elected, that he was willing to run. Were so lucky that he had all of that experience going back to the 70s, all those relationships, all those lessons learned. He is a living, breathing lesson in how to get stuff done. He is 10 times the president I hope hed be and my hopes were pretty dang high.
I wont lie, my heart still hurts that people didnt support him, but we are where we are and he chose a great VP in Kamala Harris. Pray God, we prevail.

Ot sure why he went up into the plane after they were out and with their families, but imagine it was him going up to greet the crew, thank them, just be Joe.
Am going to miss him.

(26,593 posts)He has overturned bogus economic theory, and opened the door for real hope for justice and equality, the kind of hope that drives people to elect people and pass laws to guarantee them.
My thoughts here:

And one more thing. As I watched in real time, he gave his Presidential lapel pin to a freed hostage.
He is now the greatest of all time in my book, and that's a damn fine book to be in.
And he hates nazis.

(1,284 posts)resuscitate trickle down. There will be centrists who try and shove aspects of it down our throats too.
Heck, our felonious former president is trying to do it right now.
Always remember Chicago School/trickle down policies do not work. Those policies increase speculation not solid sustainable growth. They encourage the rise of Pinochets instead of perfecting our Union.
Always remember Joe Biden got this countrys economy revving and put the speculation about other countries overtaking our economic miracle to bed for at least another generation
With an industrial policy (like we havent had since before I was conscious)
That had the middle class and those areas left far behind at its heart.
Just like an flexible, smart old school democrat would
Joe Biden did this.

(232 posts)It's amazing what Biden was able to accomplish during his time in office. We can only wonder about what if he continued, but it's also possible he may have handed the reins over to Harris.
I also feel that his accomplishments will have a lasting effect on our lives for decades to come and that will be his legacy.
As sad as it is that Biden will only serve one term we are fortunate that he was able to become president and make his contribution to our society which will be more than many two term presidents.
