question everything

Dear Madam Vice President: Please, just announce it. Today, now

Be decisive. Too many reports about “division among donors and factions in the party.”

And the markets are diving for “fear of recession.”

So please, start now. Announce your choice, don’t wait for tomorrow’s rally. And both of you can start addressing current issues.

Please.

She is being forced to make this decision under an accelerated time table which most candidates never have to do.

I know there’s a lot of things going on but I’d prefer the decision is correct rather than fast (and it still will be fast - only 2 weeks since Biden dropped out). The quality of the ‘applicants’ necessitates that.

24 - 48 hours more won’t make a darn bit of difference.

And a stock market that went up 33% in 3.5 years needed a correction and it’s getting one. A stock market always going up (or housing) is not a good thing but there will always be people willing to turn a correction into a political tool to attack the other side.

It would almost be a slap in the face if it were not him, because of this.

Yes, liberty bell, yadda, yadda. When Harris was running for Potus, her headquarters were based in Baltimore.

She's announcing this in PA because it's Shapiro.

Been a theme for a while now.

And then there's the Queen B.

Beyoncé's 'Freedom' gets streaming boost following Kamala Harris' campaign use
The 2016 song “Freedom” is becoming a cornerstone of the Harris campaign and getting a sudden boost on music streaming platforms.
. . .
According to CNN, Beyoncé gave her approval to use “Freedom” as her walk-out song on Monday just hours before she appeared, and to continue using the anthem for the rest of her campaign.

“Freedom” appears to be a recurring theme song for Harris, who also used the song in a campaign video that released earlier Thursday.

We need PA. The rally was scheduled before VP speculation reached fever intensity on this board. Freedom has been a HUGE theme for VP Harris for a very long time now. It's also kind of a theme in Philadelphia.

I don't have a strong favorite, so I have no dog in this fight. I just don't find the location of the rally indicative of anything other than having a good bead on the work needed to win.

People subconsciously associate events. We wouldn't want a stock market dip linked in people's minds with Harris' VP choice.

It would also look a little panicky and desperate. Rather than decisive, it would look like she's trying to quash/distract from the stock market. When people see you trying to distract from something, they'll wonder why you're doing that. They'll think you had something to do with it.

It's better for her to stick to the original plan, because stability and predictability are better in times of panic and perceived crisis.

(Not saying this is a crisis, just that the media loves the drama and people get riled up).

Mon Aug 5, 2024, 04:32 PM
Aug 2024

It's her choice when to release the information, not yours.

She owes the country a carefully considered choice, not a rush to make one simply to please you.

We know when her deadline is, so what difference does a few days make? More importantly, the longer she holds out, the more the anticipation builds. It keeps her in the news cycle more.

Leave the PR to the professionals. They know what they're doing with a major rollout.

It's got the news frauds having fits. Let's keep that going a few more hours yet. Meanwhile, Trump is golfing, or changing Depends. He's Xtting his pants, literally, because he knows he's lost this. And he'll be sentenced for his felony convictions as scheduled in September.

It's been a good stay. Stay calm and know I am... Oh. Wait. Stay Calm and Trust Kamala. Yeah. That works.
