Mary Trump continues to put the squeeze on her uncle, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The former presidents niece in her email newsletter examined the effect that presumptive Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris burgeoning campaign is likely having on him. And she suggested that probably the thing that is most driving his flailing rage, he has taken back seat to the Black woman who has all of the energy, enthusiasm, and youth on her side.

Donald Trumps rallies are boring re-runsgrievance-filled rants and incomprehensible non-sequiturs, she wrote.
Harris events, meanwhile, are packed-to the-rafters celebrations in which she not only lays out a comprehensive, optimistic, and forward-looking vision for our country, but also calls Donald out for his cowardice, his cruelty, and his criminality.

(41,637 posts)... staying out of prison.
He is going to lose in November, and he already knows it. He'll immediately declare that he's running for president again in 2028, just to keep the grift going. It might not be enough to keep him out of prison though.

(2,640 posts)Bolsonaro, the "Trump of the Tropics." From there, he will continue to grift from his cult members, declaring himself the rightful winner of the election and a "president in exile."
Anything to avoid prison.

(41,637 posts)Just sayin'
For sure he'd love to go someplace that has gorgeous golf courses, but none of those countries would allow him in.
I'd love to see him get deported to the South Pole. No government to disrupt there.

(10,299 posts)At least at Mar-a-Lardo people are forced to give him a standing ovation every time he walks into the dining room. If he flees it will be very hard for him to maintain the illusion that he is adored.
As much as I would love to see him thrown in prison in this country, I wish with all my heart he would run. If he goes to prison hell be considered a political prisoner by the cult. If he runs and his cowardice becomes apparent, they might not be as motivated to commit violence for him.

(2,634 posts)If Trump loses and DOES do a runner, will the US WANT to extradite him? If he gets sentenced, it is likely going to be house arrest at Mara Lago, which means he can still get a continuous stream of reporters and sycophants. If he's in a dachau along the North part of the Black Sea, he's pretty much exiled (and hey, may even get taken out by a stray Ukranian drone - stranger things have happened).
FakeNoose
(41,637 posts)He'll go somewhere he can't be extradited from. AND he'll be sure he has protection from that country. Other than that I can't make predictions because I have no insider knowledge.
We're just spitballin' here, so it's anybody's guess.
I find it hard to believe that Chump would want to go anywhere that English is not the official language. As I said earlier, he wants to play golf so he'd love to go to Scotland. But they've already said they won't let him in, for anything other than a 2-week visit (or something similar.) He wouldn't get a visa or visiting permit from any of the UK countries, or Canada, Australia, Ireland, and I'm guessing that none of our NATO allies would take him.
What's left? South America, Africa, Middle East, China, Russia ... he would hate them and they don't have golf courses anyway. Let's deport him to the South Pole while we still can.

Buut I have to wonder what country would welcome him with open arms.
People joke all the time about him going to Russia, but I doubt Putin would want him. Trump may think they're bosom buddies, but I think Putin will completely lose interest in him once it's clear he'll never be potus again.
If he starts looking for places to flee to, I think he will be shocked to find out how few real friends he has. The foreign leaders who were so cordial to him when he was in power will not be nearly so cordial when he's a powerless fugitive from justice. The U.S. is a powerful nation, and I don't think many heads of state will be eager to flip us the bird in such a blatant way.

(22,592 posts)I agree that he can't help himself. Also, the more angry, scared, threatened, etc. he is, the less self-control he has. Having to run against Kamala is the most maddening, scary, and threatening thing that could have happened to him right now, and I love the way the Harris Campaign keeps holding his feet to the fire.
I hope he completely loses control soon, and shows the world what a weird, stupid, cowardly loser he is in a dramatic way. I don't know what the actual chances are of that, but the way the Harris Campaign keeps poking at him is the right strategy, imo. Who knows, maybe someday soon, we'll see an adult-sized version of this:

(41,637 posts)When Chump was president he made a total ass of himself everywhere. Our Allies all know they don't want him and nobody is extending invitations to harbor him from the US authorities. A few years ago Chump made noises about moving to Scotland because he owns property there, but they won't issue him a visa. The Scottish hate him anyway, as do the English and Irish.
Losing the election - and he WILL LOSE, have no fear - means he finally has to face the music over all these charges and convictions against him. I think the SCOTUS judges might continue to have Chump's back for a while, but eventually they'll turn against him. How could they not?

(41,637 posts)In actual fact, many journalists are being paid to cover for Chump and normalize him to the American voters. They edit his speech in their news stories to make it seem like he said something meaningful and intelligent.
That's what Faux Noise has been doing for the last 9 or 10 years.
