(18,881 posts)Which surprised me because I thought theyd want someone younger, though Walz only appears older. I didnt know anything about him but watched him speak and was an instant fan. He has very wide appeal across many demographics. That being said, Im fully behind whomever VP Harris and her team decide.

(29,501 posts)Of riding the Slingshot at the State Fair,e tc. are very popular And, he is very serious, but also folksy, and like all of us older GenXers, he likes to run around in jeans, Springsteen tshirts, and sneakers.
He also is a DC insider, and his voting record was moderate-liberal, served in the National Guard as a non-com, retired teacher, likes the LGBT+ folks, pro weed. Very pro worker, including blue collar and pink collar. Knows how to cook a hotdish.
Also, his Lt Gov is Native, so that would eb cool is she steps in as Gov!

(29,501 posts)He is friends with many still in Congress, including Dem leadership, including Biden.
He is an insider. And is not one, but I think it's disingenuous to say he isn't.

(20,975 posts)Not easily intimidated. In fact, I feel sorry for JD. Going up against Tim Walz record for record. JD will be the one looking stupid.
One thing one does not do....go up against a Command Sargent Major wirh the intention of intimidation. What Tim did to Gil Gutknecht in 2006, and to every Republican he ran against, he
cleaned their clocks with FACTS. JD Vance and Trump will be no different.

(1,977 posts)Would probably get all his debates and see how quick he was on his feet.
I did like the safe driver video with his daughter Hope (via IVF so hes got that covered).
CUT! It was hysterical.

(998 posts)Dan Pfeiffer pointed out recently that nobody has a clue who Harris will pick until she officially announces it. She could change her mind at the last minute which is her right as the nominee.
Her strategists probably have 6 different speeches ready to go for each potential VP pick.

(93,867 posts)and get their acceptance. I know it would be just a formality as those in consideration at this point are already going to say yes. But I can't see her announcing without letting the person know plus there is there issue with secret service.

(15,852 posts)All her options were good, but Walz might be the best. Seems to be instantly likable, down to earth, popular. The opposite of weird.
Think. Again.
