Kamala Harris VP Pick Tim Walz: First Explicitly Pro-Cannabis Legalization Presidential Ticket In History

The cannabis industry applauds VP Kamala Harris' choosing of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate in the 2024 presidential election.

A Harris-Walz team represents the cannabis industry's first explicitly pro-legalization presidential ticket from a major party in U.S. history.

‘Historic Milestone’
“Kamala Harris’ selection of Governor Tim Walz as her running mate is a historic milestone for cannabis reform," said David Culver, SVP of Public Affairs for US Cannabis Council in an email to Benzinga. "For the first time, there will be a pro-legalization major party ticket. The US Cannabis Council is confident that a Harris Administration would continue to build on the recent progress made by the Biden Administration toward ending federal cannabis prohibition and addressing the societal impacts of the drug war."

It's a plant for God's sake. Make it legal to grow it outdoors next to your tomatoes. PeaceWave Aug 2024 #6

stop legal weed. Dumbfucks! We border two legal states. I'm about three miles from my favorite weed shop. Even those farthest from a legal border get all the weed they want. An ounce lasts a long time for most stoners. If you can't get any locally at a good price, someone just makes a run to a legal state every once in a while.

Recreational sales begin today at one dispensary in my locale. I will be happy when it’s legal at the federal level. I expect to continue making trips to That State Up North, however, as prices will remain high in Ohio. Too many politicos with their hand in the till.

Guess you could coin a new term: asportical, as in having little interest in sports. I’d move to Michigan in a heartbeat if my wife would go, but she’s skittish about moving any farther north.

Supposedly there’s a store now in Dayton. Need to check it out. Price of gas needs to be included with MI pot.

So it’s illegal to buy in another state ie. MI and carry it into Oh. Why not take it out of the MI packages and put it into generic baggies in case you get stopped by OHP?

but I only make the trip every other fortnight or so. I usually make it a festive occasion, visiting an excellent local restaurant in Monroe, MI or taking in attractions in the area. I’m not concerned about getting stopped. Ohio tried to mess with people when Michigan first made recreational legal. It was a US highway as I recall, and the wave of outrage brought it to a swift end. I take I-75 across the border, and I wish lotsa luck to anyone who tries to set up a roadblock on that. Besides, I don’t look the part of a ‘smuggler’, and I never indulge while driving, so I don’t have to make up a story about hitting a skunk.
