With Harris' pick of Walz as her running mate, it was inevitable the press would have something negative to say about him. They decided to say he's too progressive.
If she picked Shapiro, they'd be running with "too many Jews on that platform".
If she picked Whitmer, they'd be running with "too many women on that platform".
If she picked Michelle Obama, they'd be running with "too many black women on that platform".
If she picked Hakeem Jeffries, they'd be running with "look at all the gangbangers".
It doesn't matter what the press says, we know they're pieces of shit and had talking points ready telling us how bad the choice was for whoever was picked.
Let's get to work getting Harris/Walz elected - they're a much better team for the country than the Rapist/Couchfucker.

(28,836 posts)People keep making the assertion that the media is saying he's too progressive, but there's very little evidence to support the claim. Outside of the usual nonsense from Fox News, et al, press has been quite positive.

(23,949 posts)This is being recieved very well, the only "too progressive" statements are from Right Wing extremists, or maybe the occaional mainstreamer wondering how he might be attacked.
This is a home run pick and the roll out is going perfectly so far.
Middle America is going to love Tim walz!

(1,213 posts)To tell me all about the influence of dialectical materialism on Democrat X's policy positions. Then you can be merciless with making fun of them for being too stupid not to have heard of it until that moment.

Desperate, aren't they, absolutely desperate, as they know that their candidates, the two of them, are losers in every sense of the word.

(3,256 posts)This is less about where I get my news and more about the notion that the news is biased towards the fascists running on the right.
The news does what the news will do and we shouldn't be focused on their handwringing.

(5,095 posts)All that has to happen is an interview. Walz could smile, chuckle, and say something like "if making sure that kids in school have enough to eat, then sign me up."
They're just not going to be able to make him look like a wild-eyed fanatic. He just comes across as too calm, too genuine, too reassuring. We may have a smear-proof VP candidate on our ticket.
