It's on the San Andreas fault. Rather concerning, as the San Andreas is about due for another large one.

I can't read the topography maps well on my phone, thought Lamont was closer to Sylmar than it is.

San Andreas goes through Gorman, which is the top of the Grapevine. The earthquake was way down, well past the bottom of it, near where the 5 and 99 split.

Got the alert and 10-15 secs later, I felt it. Kinda neat.

App said it was a 5.7 centered in Bakersfield.

My husband and I were just sitting there like what do we do? Since we’re fairly far away from Bakersfield, I figured we wouldn’t feel it that much and it just turned into one big bump then a lot of minor shaking and rolling.

And I’m on the top floor of a big 3 story building that really moves usually.
I’m fine with it since I lived in Studio City when Northridge quake hit. I was lucky but 4 friends lost everything and stayed at my place for a couple of weeks.
