One trick of promiscuous people is to call every partner "Honey" so they won't get caught forgetting a lover's name or calling out the wrong name. Trump, proudly promiscuous, is now using a variant of this tactic. He mispronounces Kamala's name to cover up his inability to keep names and pronunciations straight. For him, it has the added "bonus" of showing disrespect and labeling her as foreign. Trump is weird and creepy, but also so very sleazy. (David Allen Coe's song 'You never even called me by my name' triggered this realization.)

(1,208 posts)Ever since I watched a movie about Jim Morrison (Doors), which made me see an artist I had loved as a teenager in a different light, I have avoided studying the background of artists I enjoy. I haven't watched the Elvis movie or the one about Queen for fear they might ruin the art for me. I think studying famous painters would yeild similarly disturbing results. So, thank you for the heads up. I won't spring Coe's songs on the unsuspecting again. But, truly, without much research, it would be difficult to avoid posting songs sung by wife beaters, rapists, child molesters, and racists. (I won't list them, but I stumble on this information about some other artists I have enjoyed).

As a result, I choose to remain blissfully ignorant about Willie, Loretta, Johnny, June, Tammy, Patsy... and a dozen more of my favorites.

Yeah, one can expect normal from the kind of guy who would create a self-portrait for a severed head:

Feel free to cut-and-paste this emoji if you want to do the same. It is a Unicode character (U1F414) so you can use it on forums that don't have a chicken emoji like this one. It should even work on forums that don't have emojis at all.

(1,208 posts)I agree. "Chicken" describes Trump's character, so it is more apt than "sleazy", which only describes his behavior. I don't know how to insert unicode.

(23,538 posts)You can copy-and-paste the 🐔 emoji from any message containing it (including this one) into your message, just like any other text.

(10,280 posts)IMHO it's out there in a fun way. It wasn't written by David Allen Coe (and it even says that in the song). It was co-written by very talented songwriter, Steve Goodman who was from Chicago (and was Jewish).
"Interest in Goodman's career had a resurgence in 2007 with the publication of a biography by Clay Eals, Steve Goodman: Facing the Music. The same year, the Chicago Cubs began playing Goodman's 1984 song "Go, Cubs, Go" after each home game win. When the Cubs made it to the playoffs, interest in the song and Goodman resulted in several newspaper articles about him. Illinois Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn declared October 5, 2007, Steve Goodman Day in the state. In 2010, Illinois Representative Mike Quigley introduced a bill renaming the Lakeview post office on Irving Park Road in honor of Goodman. The bill was signed by President Barack Obama on August 3, 2010." (Wiki)..
