member at a holiday is unpleasant and something to be avoided.

Pathologizing Trump's offensiveness lets him off the hook. He's unpleasant because he's offensive and cruel, not because he has a mental disability.

..... then decided to lock him up in the garage and fed him tuna fish sandwiches. Because he was too offensive, disruptive, and insulting to sit at the large family holiday table.

Besides he could not keep his hands off the private parts of the bodies of your young daughters and your nieces. Your wife was tempted to call the cops on him and have them remove him from the Thanksgiving festivities at your house. But then it was decided to toss him out in the garage and lock him in.

That was his expression of devout patriotism,... fucking every young underage girl he could get his grubby hands on,... in lieu of military service in Vietnam.

Deferment after deferment - someone else was sent on his behalf to die on the killing fields of Vietnam. trDUMP was too good and his Daddy Fred was too rich for Don-OLD to walk into that meat grinder. Only suckers and fools stuck in poverty could not afford to buy multiple deferments from military service.

Bone spurs, bunions, and ingrown toe nails gave him a pass he desired from mandatory military service. So then he could become a playboy pedophile dabbling in statutory rape of young girls whenever the mood washed over him or his perverted libido was aroused.

Can you believe the MAGA crowd wants to put this piece of human trash back in the White House once again ? This is their second Messiah and they worship the ground he walks on barely able to wait to kneel down and kiss his ring.

very angry w/outbursts. At first it was just an oops - but then the family started realizing that his age related deficits were causing all these poor, dangerous decisions he was making. It was getting very worrisome.

After my father passed the doctors found that he had suffered several mini strokes that were probably interfering with his decision making process, and his emotional outbursts. He was slowing down physically, but his disability was a result of his brain functioning.

It can be difficult to identify the point when natural aging symptoms become disabilities. My wider point to that poster is, again, that conflating disabilities with despicable behavior is dangerous and ableist, and only ends up hurting the most vulnerable.

began to suspect that something was "wrong". He started to become increasingly isolated. So as a family we began visiting him down in Florida regularly. We found some disturbing things, including a couple of letters from the Herman Cain for President campaign, inviting my father to bequeath his property to his campaign. My father, in the end, needed to stop driving, needed to have someone else be in charge of his finances, needed help.

make fun of him for saying ridiculous things that were out of character for him and say he should be locked up in a straitjacket.

Trump has always said irrational, racist, hateful things. It's who he is. Blaming what he says on mental illness, mental disability or age-related decline is both ableist and lets him off the hook.

I really do believe the natural filters we all have were disappearing. Trump may not remind me exactly of my Dad, but he does remind me of the unfortunate aging process that my Dad went through. And believe me there were times when I just wanted to leave my Dad's house because of his cruelty, and this is before we realized that something was wrong.

if possible to let them have access to the workplace. Is that what we want here?

Why bring disability into this at all?

The problem with Trump isn't that he might have dementia (and diagnosing people off TV is ableist as well). It's that he's a racist, misogynistic asshole who only cares about himself and is only running to stay out of jail.

You could change two words in the OP to racist or deranged and everyone here would be agreeing with you.

Function is to distract the bull. From the wiki:
"protect a fallen rider from the bull by distracting it and providing an alternative target for the bull to attack"
while putting on a display for the crowd.

We see endless headlines saying "look what he said NOW" while news like this flies under the radar:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/aug/06/georgia-local-election-boards-allowed-withhold-vote-certification
and other locations where local election boards have promised not to certify the election.

The goal is to allow Clarence RV Thomas et al to step in, ala 2000.

The bull is the US population. The riders are the oligarchy which tries to ride us. T is the clown, whether he knows it or not.

Maybe when "weird" wears out we can use "clown".

Disabled? Really?

How about he's the creepy uncle you're forced to invite..

If you had it your way, he'd never set foot in your house because he gets too handsy with the girls and makes the youngest children cry fro all his yelling at them to be seen and not heard?

That's more like it.
