the convention? Maybe more of video tribute, then a 15 standing ovation with him on stage. Hug Kamala, waving then exit the stage?

(27,633 posts)Biden is expected to deliver a primetime speech during the opening night of the Chicago convention, according to three sources familiar with the planning, with the evenings programming centering on Bidens legacy and achievements. That programming will include highly produced televised content aimed at telling the story of how the country moved beyond the pandemic-era of four years ago, before literally and figuratively passing the baton to his onetime running mate.
Monday night is Joes night, said a source familiar with the planning. And then hell turn the keys over to allow the event to focus on Vice President Kamala Harris.

(90,011 posts)I'd guess everybody's gonna want to hear from him, and why shouldn't they? ESPECIALLY now, considering what he decided to do for the country as well as for his party.
And why shouldn't HE share his thoughts in that kind of spotlight? They're all gonna go nuts the minute they see him. He certainly deserves it. He's gonna rock that venue to its foundations. The ratings are gonna be boffo! The love-fest of ALL love-fests.
The whole thing's gonna be must-see TV.

(44,497 posts)As Former Presidents Obama and Clinton (maybe Hillary as well) will speak as well.
I'm also guessing there will be some sort of statement from the Carter family read at the convention.
Unlike Republicans, our former Presidents actually aren't ashamed to support their party's nominee.

(179,822 posts)At the 2016 convention, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden and President Obama all had prime time addresses to the convention. One reason I remember these speeches that the secret service curtailed access to the hallways just before each speech. We were warned to go to the restroom in advance of these lock downs.
