Ok ...something somatic is going on with Orangina...

Do y’all remember a long long time ago when he went to the hospital in the middle of the night and they never said why he went? They just evaded questions with BS answers until the lazy media got tired of asking.

I believe that they were evaluating him following some sort of episode or episodes. I’m certain he was given neurological tests and he’s been lying about their results since. In fact, his usual mechanism of projection was implemented against President Biden, by stating that he, the President, was infirm and senile because…that’s what he, Trump, nearly always does.

We are witnessing his rapid decline in real time. There is little question that it’s accelerating and is exacerbated by stressors. The Biden turnover is possibly the most recent: it’s the political equivalent of being left at the altar. Being shot at is another as is having to sit through a multi-week jury trial and then to be found guilty on top of that.
To be truthful, all of these would severely affect, at least emotionally, a perfectly normal, reasonably well-adjusted individual.

Well, he certainly ain’t that. Add to the above the essential dissolution of his marriage, the fear concerning pending litigation, and the stresses of running a criminal enterprise and this is a recipe for accelerating his dementia.

Okay, you don’t like diagnosing over the teevee? Please allow me to ask: honestly, most here are of sound mind. How many could deal with this concatenation of nightmares and feel stable? Right. So a malignant deteriorating narcissist who’s showing real signs of confusion is gonna see their persona’s health plummet.

As a final point, his dress and demeanor is “off” and has been for years. This is not the Trump I recall from Atlantic City, where he was a shitbag, but analytical and sharp in his crumby way. No…this guy is a shell of his former self, as they say. That’s why he’s being hidden presently while they figure out what to do with him. They even sent that POS Nazified prick Stephen Miller out on MSNBC,…they don’t know what else to do to stay relevant.

He was the Democratic nominee that year. His wife died a week before the election, and, grief-stricken, he died four weeks later. That was before the Electoral College cast its votes, and had he won the most electors, it might have triggered a Constitutional Crisis.

That was avoided since Grant won in a landslide that year.

Organized electors might be able to deal with it when they cast their votes as one option. If not, I suspect it would play out as normal with a presidential nomination and approval in the House and Senate.

Because this hypothtical all happens before an election, I guess it might go to the Senate in some electoral college hijinks with each state getting one vote, but that seems cumbersome and unnecessary.

If a Republican candidate withdraws, becomes incapacitated, or dies after the primaries the Republican National committee could reconvene their convention and let delegates vote on a new candidate or they can just appoint someone to run themselves.

The article also says neither party has any obligation to chose the running mate as the new nominee.

My guess since the RNC has been Trumpified it would be someone who is very loyal to him and kisses his butt.

Looks like we’re at that point.

I have seen this type of decline in my own father. He was a wonderful guy, but after his dementia diagnosis and the filters came off, he was an entirely different person… a volcano of anger and grievance. It was a long slow decline over ten years, and then very swift ending with a massive stroke. I told my husband, he had never really met my father. That’s how changed he was.

Sorry to get so personal, but to me Trump’s condition is clear as day. To bad nobody loves him… not his wife… not his children, otherwise they would get him help.

My sister had an explosive temper and my mom and I were afraid of her. Eventually my brother stepped in when she couldn’t handle her finances. It was a long process over many years. But I remember her explosive temper! I imagine that is going on with tRUMP. He is probably hell to be around. I believe people with this disease are in rage, because they know something is wrong with them. My sister finally went into a home with 24 care when she stopped wearing clothes. I am waiting for that with trump!!!! If Ivanka had an ounce of decency, she would be having him evaluated and put in an home. But she doesn’t have an ounce of decency. What an agonizing experience to endure. And I’m sure you had a hurricane of mixed feelings - wanting to stay close but feeling so repelled, AND hopeless about what, if anything, could be done to help.

I’m sorry you had to live through this. I know a lesser version of that, watching my parents’ decline. It’s like an emotional drowning.

And PLEASE DON’T punish yourself for whatever feelings you had, deep down, that you had to try to keep to yourself while it was all unraveling. They come. They’re there. We ALL have ‘em. And it’s a desperately heavy lift.

But it eventually - inevitably - does come to an end. And I discovered that it makes one discover one’s own strength and forbearance, and a deeper appreciation of slowly moving forward, and leaving it behind, in the past.

That's why hearing the uuilty verdict 34 times and hearing about the huge payments he's been assessed to his rape victim and to the state of NY, it hasn't really penetrated, his lawyers will fix it for him, they always have.

Nothing is going to be real to him until a door shuts behind him that he can't open if he wants to, whether it's guarded house arrest or prison. Until that control is taken away from him and he realizes his lawyers haven't fixed things for him, it's not going to hit him.

And even then, he'll spend his time figuring out the best ways to destroy anyone he thinks has wronged him.

Might have been a mild one, but still. Those memory questions he claims were a cognitive test are kind of the same thing I remember my elderly mother being asked after she had a stroke.

We may never know, or if we do it will be years from now.

There's probably not a chance he could make it through another full term and the prospect of Vance taking over is horrrifying.

I didn't think much of it until today when someone told me it was Vance who showed up and the so-called rally was at the local police station. It was reported that less than 100 people showed up for that and that the stupid hillbilly was interviewed standing in front of a Harris sign!

A while back, a respected (for good reason) forum member said the felon is an entertainer who would not experience a melt down. I agree that he is an entertainer. But he is also a sociopath, and as such, is at risk for brief periods of delusional thinking when under significant stress. And stress is, exactly as you note, going to create physical symptoms when prolonged. For our system evolved for life on the savanna, not in a courtroom, facing potential incarceration. Like yourself, I see indicators that the felon is on the decline.

37. Cognitive dissonance.
Wed Aug 7, 2024, 10:36 PM
Aug 2024

Older people are prone to this, believing one thing yet the real world providing daily evidence the belief is off kilter.

"Cognitive dissonance is a mental discomfort that arises when a person holds two or more contradictory beliefs, values, or attitudes. This can lead to a state of tension and anxiety, as the person tries to reconcile their conflicting thoughts."

Trump is an extreme case, given his personality.
He truly believes his destiny is to be President, and then be free to morph US Democracy into a North Korean or Russian strong man dictatorship.

And yet . . . the daily evidence he tries to ignore says it isn't going to happen.

The stress, the tension must be driving him mad - or helping to make his madness worse.

It's always on the panel for routine blood work, which means a lab would have picked it up, long ago, and even Dr. Weirdo would have put him on a sound protocol to treat it.

Besides, he doesn't exhibit other key factors to make such a diagnosis. You'd know he's not a tertiary syphilis patient if you'd ever seen one.

I've posted about this a couple of times before. The tertiary syphilis trope is poppycock.

Syphilis has been 100% curable for basically Trump's entire lifetime. The idea that someone with plenty of money and access to good health care could contract the disease and go undetected and untreated for decades is laughable.

Imo, the only reason this silly notion has hung on like it has is because advanced cases of a disease that is easily curable with cheap drugs are so rare in industrialized nations like the U.S. that most of us will never encounter an example of it irl.

I now feel obligated to share some actual information on the felon and his daughter. When she was a teen, he pressured her to have both a nose and boob job. For that reason, I consider him a sick scumbag. It does make me feel sorry for Ivanka. I can't imagine how hurtful and harmful that would be for a daughter, and their relationship between 2017 to 2021 has, in my opinion, to be viewed in that light. Both ways. I do not like anything about her, but I do not view her as harshly as I once did. I think the felon needs to be incarcerated as soon as possible.

For sure. I mean no doubt. When my first wife left me, and then I got demoted at work because I wasn't functioning well, developed some financial problems, and then just as things were getting to be OK, I fell on ice and my right quadraceps completely separated from my kneecap. So surgery, painful physical therapy and about a 2.5 year recovery.

I guess I grew up, you know. Became more spiritual, more thoughtful, more prayerful. Oh, I know lots of people on here don't subscibe to that. That's fine. No worries. But I do. I needed to forgive, release and get back in touch with inner peace and joy.

Bottom line, I'd say I'm pretty much recovered, but definitely not the same person I was going into it, you know?

I like to think I am better. Lots of meditation, and so on.

Like you, though - I can remember that post you made about giving a fuck a couple weeks ago. I don't think I replied, but I was thinking about you, because my wife and I had a horrible time as the media was ganging up on Biden. It was an awful few weeks. Well, you know.

Now, we have this joy, which is great, and I'm confident Kamala and Coach Walz will win decisively and gain control of both houses of Congress. Hopefully.

What bothers me, I think, is that I know I should be balanced no matter what is happening around me, but that is hard, you know? It really is.

So Trump has to be....well, I would hate to be him. While I believe he should be in prison along with so many of his follwers, I don't wish anything more than that on him. My hope is that Biden saved the republic with his noble, selfless gesture and the Democrats are now galvanized with hope and joy. Might be a lot like FDR getting us out of the depression, you know - that was an existential crisis too, along with WWII - my dad fought in the Pacific during that one. He wouldn't ever really talk about it.

Seems like the pendulum is swinging back in favor of freedom and away from the iron grip of Wall Street and the raw greed of a few billionaires.

Strikes me that a likely, but unsupported, reason why the GOP honchos were all in on Trump running was to get Trump elected with a well chosen (good little fascist) VP and as soon as the inauguration was over, invoke Amendment 25, get Trump into a private mental health facility and begin implementing Project 2025.
Can I prove any of this? Of course not. But why else have so many been willing to (metaphorically) jump on their swords for someone clearly mentally deteriorating before the public's eyes.

As a final point, his dress and demeanor is “off” and has been for years. This is not the Trump I recall from Atlantic City, where he was a shitbag, but analytical and sharp in his crumby way.

He wasn't as fat in his Atlantic City days as he is now. He was also in better financial straits then. It takes $$$$$ for a morbidly obese man to get suits that fit in a way that flatters them as best as can be done. He no longer has the kind of money to do that.

Hence why he looks like a slob now.
