I, a 4th grader and seriously training gymnast, decided I'd had enough of a bully picking on my brother. He was nearly two years older, more than a head higher, and at least 50 lbs heavier.

My weight training paid off when I hauled off and punched him in the face, and followed it with an uppercut. Down he went, and I didn't let up. Leapt on him and kept punching him. Parents had to pull me off him.

Did I mention he was the local Golden Gloves champion for his age/weight class? Well, there you have it.

So much for 'weak little' gymnasts.

This sexist jerk has no idea whatsoever of the power and strength it takes to launch yourself into the air via your legs or arms and hurl your body into twists and turns that defy gravity. If you haven't done weight training to prep for it, those first few times on the uneven bars will make you feel like your arms are being yanked out of their sockets. It hurts. A lot. He has no idea how frightening it is to fly off that top bar over 10 feet off the ground or even higher with the vault, and trust your training to land on your feet You don't land right very often in the beginning. And that hurts, too. A lot.
