(7,081 posts)he might want to spit some venom at his colleague, Ari Melber, for having Stephen Miller on his show. The absolute perversity.

(790 posts)Lawrence helped remind how miserable their double standards are, and almost certainly will continue to be.
I can't blame Harris for not giving a presser yet. You know the press won't be as polite and softball with her as they were with Trump.
They'll come after her like a pack of hyenas, with loaded questions, interrupting her answers, never satisfied with any answer she provides as if, no matter what she says, she's lying hiding something.
The correct and fair approach is, of course, between those two extremes and exactly the same way for both candidates.

(3,315 posts)Showing the contrast between the passivity of the Trump reporters and the attack dogs who go after President Biden and his staff. I hope some of them are shamed. I hope they start to do their jobs in the future -- calling out the lies, following up on unanswered questions, digging further if a colleague's question goes unanswered.
I hope Harris establishes a protocol in her press conferences that stops the rude, destructive questioning in its tracks.
Thanks, too, for showing the Harris speech in its entirety today. Given her small audience and the fact that it was in union offices, the earnest homily had a different tone than her previous speeches this week. I'm so glad Mr. O'Donnell took the time to show it.

(12,817 posts)When Pedo Trump spits out lies in response to reporters' questions. He's not really answering a question. He's just feeding them bull sh*t.
And everytime he spits out a number you can bet he just pulled that number out of his butt.
What purpose did that stupid chat with reporters serve? A chance for him to charge the media corporations for the moldy, rotten food he serves? An opportunity for reporters to see yet another badly decorated, dirty, fake luxury building?

Nah, they've been groveling for decades. The Apprentice was a years-long farce pretending the Bankruptcy King was some great businessman who knew what it takes. etc. etc. etc.
Perhaps it has more to do with corporate media bosses keeping in sync with their wannabe plutocrat pals.

(5,838 posts)He was able to stay calm because he was allowed to lie with impunity and not be challenged. Narcissists like him love to be given opportunity to dominate and control the situation.
Was the inability of audience to see or hear the questioners a condition of him doing the interview? I've never seen an interview where the questioners are invisible and silent, and their identities are unknown. I don't get CNN or MSNBC and just happened to see several minutes on C SPan where he was lying and gaslighting every response and wondered what the hell was going on.

(11,710 posts)The Democratic forerunner gets some clicks from the faithful, those who want to know, and a few observers. That orange gibbon gets them clicks from both sides as one is worshipping and the other is fact checking. Regardless, it all translates into clicks. And, as you so succinctly pointed out, they want money. This is how they get it.
You want it to stop? Stop giving them money. In fact, do the opposite. COST them money. Tell everyone you know. Make sure to say that having money in the news is like having money in healthcare. Such motivation is not analogous to positively contributing to a moral and just society, nor is it helping anyone but those who end up with it. And they are not interested in sharing any of it.

(1,461 posts)The pro repug media's behavior is really nothing new. They pulled this same garbage in 2000 when they let bushthief get away with his big lie that he was a "compassionate conservative" while they trashed Al Gore throughout the campaign. SCOTUS judge Samuel Alito is Exhibit A that proves that the SCOTUS appointed bushthief was no "compassionate conservative".
I did see Lawrence O'Donnell last night and he was great. He spent half his show lambasting the pro repug media for letting the orange turd lie without any pushback. However, he only took the pro repug media's behavior back to 2016 when it really goes back to 2000 as I've previously explained. I do worry that he might get in trouble for what he did. I sure hope not.

(9,372 posts)Those aren't mistakes. Those are decisions calculated to elect a "Republican" (quotes because they no longer even support the existence of a republic) President for the owners' own personal grees. And those owners are smart enough, mostly, to be aware how devastating any "Republican" president can be for the vast majority of Americans, let alone the one they are pimping for who wants to establish a fascist state here and make it permanent.

Then they ask Harris about lies Tfg and Vance said. By repeating disinformation they reinforce it. Lazy journalism instead of asking about important issues.
