Harris gives Senate Democrats jolt of confidence

Last edited Sun Aug 11, 2024, 03:25 PM - Edit history (1)

With the DNC Convention coming a close race in Maryland and elsewhere, Democrats are looking to hold the Senate. Their messages are echoing that of the Harris/Walz ticket. There is still much work to be done in every state to ensure Democrats up and down the ballot get elected. "WHEN WE FIGHT! WE WIN!"

Senate Democrats are feeling more confident about their chances of keeping the Senate majority with Vice President Harris leading the ticket, arguing her momentum could lift them despite a nightmare battleground map.

The GOP has long been the favorite to take the Senate this fall because Democrats are defending more difficult-to-hold seats. Republicans need only net two seats in total to take the majority even if they lose the White House.Still, Democrats think their slim hopes have grown with the jolts Harris has given the party.

Cruz is ahead of Allred as follows:

54 Cruz
46 Allred
(per 538)

53 Cruz
47 Allred
(The Hill)

47.2 Cruz
39.6 Allred
(Real Clear Polling)

As soon as I read the first sentence of your post: "With the DNC Convention coming up next week, Colin Allread tied with Cruz in Texas....." I immediately checked.

I've been in TX for the better part of the past 18 months. Allread is NOT leading. He's behind. The progressives I know who live there and would LOVE for ALLRED to win (and who HATE Ted Cruz) don't think he stands a chance!

I read the thread/article you posted. I didn't see in that article (maybe I missed it) where it says anything about Allred being ahead of Cruz. Please tell me where you saw this (since I couldn't find it in the article).! I would LOVE to stand corrected.

Do you think it's appropriate to edit your post?

It bothers me because I have friends who come to me and ask where their money and time might best be spent. Misinformation is troubling to me.....I try to say what the facts are as opposed to what I'd like them to be.

Probably not so much with money but things like GOTV efforts. Postcards to voters, phone calls, things like that are things people not in Montana can do.
