ON EDIT: Now re-read the above with Golum's or Smegal's voice in your head. I kinda understand it more-so that way lol. I may have to re-post the above in a AI generated voice later tonight after the Rams/Cowboys football game. Ha, keep on keeping on DU! GO BLUE HARRIS/WALZ 2024!
Second Edit: Okay couldn't find the AI Golum voice I wanted. So I settled on a kids voice and made this vid last night, posted below. Peace out.

TommyT139
(2,357 posts)Bats live in large colonies, sharing the same cave from generation to generation. As a result, masses of excrement build up within the bat roost cave, eventually breaking down into rich compost. The result is a substance we call guano.
...
Guano has a history as one of the most precious fertilizers in the world. It has been a respected fertilizer used by the Incas and older South American cultures for centuries. It was so vital that Incan rulers split the guano-bearing islands among the provinces.
...
Guano was so precious to crop development that huge battles were fought over guano mines for centuries. In the 19th century, guano caused mass hysteria similar to the California gold rush. Over 40 years, Peru shipped over 20 million tonnes of guano worldwide, making over $2 billion in profit.

Also..."bat roost cave"!!!

(1,067 posts)This is a rumor started by the 2000 mules idiot. He probably sent Trump his batshit crazy theory and Trump embellished it by adding the maintenance worker comment. Trump is in a full blown panic over the Harris-Waltz crowds. First it was the fake media and now it is fake crowds and AI. Throw in the standard election interference claim and Trump has given his MAGA followers a new talking point. In 2020 it was Joe hiding in his basement. Of course the complicent press will do nothing to debunk this claim as they do not want to be Trumps next target.

(7,159 posts)AncientOfDays
(264 posts)From: https://ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/politics/2024/08/11/trump-kamala-harris-michigan-rally-ai
The crowd did in fact exist and the rally was attended by thousands of people, many of whom posted their own pictures and videos of the event, which was also live streamed by dozens of news channels and attended by a slew of prominent politicians.
==========
from: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/harris-walz-crowd/
The image's origins are unknown. While other photos and videos depicted a similar scene and tools designed to detect artificial-intelligence (AI) software said the image was likely a real photo, there was no conclusive evidence to confirm the photo's authenticity. If it was real, it's possible that its lightening, shadows or filtering was digitally manipulated.
===============
In my opinion, Snopes is no longer trustworthy.
ALBliberal
(3,339 posts)AkFemDem
(2,508 posts)It seemed well reasoned to me. The confirm AI detectors agree it's human generated- they can not confirm origin of the photo (eg who posted it first) and whether it's been digitally altered (which it almost surely was-- most images are now, eg lighting, cropping, sharpening, etc. and application of filters is super common) They found elements in the photo further support that its a real photo (details like image of the plane on cell phone screens in the crowd) So this is not questioning whether its AI, it's attacking the notion this is photoshopped and as of now they can't confirm or deny. Considering I routinely photoshop pictures of the food on my plate (LR) I don't care if it is.
AncientOfDays
(264 posts)is that they pretty much proved it real, but refused to say so - leaving right-wingers to claim there big flaws.
TheRickles
(3,386 posts)Their analysis is credible to me, and they make mention of other photos taken by other people at the rally, taken from different angles but encompassing the same scene (no links to those other photos, though). It was also live-streamed on news channels, so I'm going with Snopes over D'Souza here.
VMA131Marine
(5,270 posts)who were also recording the scene and you could also see images of the aircraft and crowd on those screens. Would AI do that? Im not sure, but that makes the photo legit to me; I didnt really have any doubts anyway.

A guest on MSNBC this past week called him a size queen. I don't know who she was and can't even remember which show it was now, but she said something like, "He's such a size queen when it comes to his rally sizes!" I almost fell on the floor laughing!
I hope someone else caught it and can tell us who she was, because that is SO true!
Go to hell, Donald. I'm sure there will be crowds there to welcome you!

(447 posts)The thing about that post from him though is that there is always some method in his madness. He always accuses the other side of what he is doing or he preemptively accuses because thats what hes going to do. Then undermines our ability to push back on it and point it out when hes doing it. Hes always confusing the narrative. I hate him so much.
