https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/investigations/2024/08/10/jd-vance-tied-to-hanania-posobiec-johnson/74732866007/Former President Donald Trumps running mate was in the news twice this week for his connections to extremists. The revelations come a week after USA TODAY reported that Richard Hanania, a far-right commentator unveiled last year as the writer of racist essays on white supremacist websites, was one of the contributors to the conservative manifesto Project 2025 while also having a friendly relationship with Vance.
On Wednesday, the Washington Post reported on Vances 20 months of messages to Charles Johnson, a conspiracy theorist who has doubted the Holocaust and was banned from Twitter for veiled threats against an organizer of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The same day, it was revealed Vance endorsed an upcoming book authored by another far-right conspiracy theorist, Jack Posobiec. Posobiec was a major promoter of the discredited Pizzagate conspiracy theory. The book praises fascist dictators and describes the far-left as unhumans.
Vance wrote the foreword for another forthcoming book written by Kevin Roberts, one of the key architects of Project 2025, the Associated Press reported. The publication of that book was postponed this week until after the election.

(3,223 posts)...when it comes to Jack Posobiec. His alt-right grifting and Nazi apologism (and his inability to keep it on the down-low) led to his Naval intelligence career getting flushed down the fucking toilet. His current idea of a "real job" is being an also-ran to Charlie Kirk; the two of them have a ridiculous show called "Thoughtcrime" (nice Orwellian title).

(13,561 posts)NYT has nothing on Vance. The Post has one opinion piece about Vances rhetoric about childless cat ladies not being helpful because the natalism movement is so important; i.e., women must be encouraged (or forced) to have more babies.
Nothing about Vances conspiracy buddies or their work for Project 2025. Theyre just ignoring him because he hurts the Trump campaign.
