What kind of sentence will Trump get on September 18th? I think the judge will hand down a 3 month prison term. Fingers crossed.

(53,773 posts)They hedge their rulings with caveats. "At this point in time", 'as it seems now'.
Judge looks like an ogre and risks retribution for harsh sentences. It will be a slap on the wrist. Fine of less than 250k, 30 days community service, 3 days in jail.

(6,264 posts)If most 1st time offenders doing what he did get time behind, I'll presume he will too. If most get probabtion and fines, that's my presumption.

(5,311 posts)In the eyes of the court, he is a first-time offender. Further, hes convicted of what are low-level white collar crimes. It would be unusual for him to be sentenced to prison. However, I can dream ( so sweet ).

The reason I think he should get more is because of what I just said.

(18,218 posts)1) Merchan hasn't indicated if he's going to overturn the convictions because evidence used in the trial was disallowed by the SCOTUS ruling on immunity.
2) 95% of NYS sentences for similar convictions do NOT involve jail time.
