for what life was like in the 1970s, and what it was like to grow up as a young girl/woman in that time.

We also rode, en masse, in cars, without 'child safety' seats, and seat belts weren't a big thing back then. Airbags? Didn't come out in full force until the 1990s, so no airbags. Cars would often have as much as six kids (or more), roaming around freely in the back seats, sometimes standing up, in convertibles.
