You're in dangerous waters if you're applying

That Latino poll to Florida. Nearly everyone who knows anything about Florida will tell you that their Latino population is nothing like that of the Southwest. They are not primarily Mexicans, but CUBANOS.

That is an important difference that you need to take into account. Because the Cubanos hate Democrats. They've hated them since the Bay of Pigs, and they've raised every generation of their kids on that hate, which then turns into R votes when they're adults. Every generation has voted Republican, and it looks like they always will. Nothing breaks them of the hold the R party has on them.

So stop thinking that Democrats have Latino support in Florida. Because they don't have it. I cannot emphasize this strongly enough.

I suspect that you also aren't aware of how strong the GOP is in Florida. It is a massive vote-generating machine that is almost impossible to beat. In any statewide race, a Democrat needs to be up as close to 10 points as possible for the party to breathe easy about a win. If it's anything less than that, it's either a tie, or the Democrat will lose.

I wish the outlook in Florida was less grim, I wish I could believe it would help to try to win it, but, honestly, it's probably a waste of resources that will go much farther and with more potential to pay off in states like NV, GA and NC.
