…and, for a few days, it looked like the higher ups among Republicans would de-Trumpify the party. Then they got polling data showing they had a better chance of gaining power by embracing Trumpism than by repudiating it, and did an immediate 180°. Since then, they’ve been riding the MAGA wind; I only hope they, and not we, wind up reaping the whirlwind.
