See for yourself. This is the kind of people we're dealing with. How can we possibly play nice when MAGA Trump cult members are publicly calling for the hunting down of human beings because they are immigrants?
Are media members going to ask the cult leader for a reaction to this act done in his name? And how much different is this than inciting people to attack the US Capitol or to suggest that a sitting VP might need to be hanged?
The man who posted these things has been arrested, but the cult leader he worships is allowed to roam free. "Justice for all"? There is no bigger lie in the United States of America than that one. And it makes me sick.

Per Google: Second-degree harassment carries up to one year of incarceration and up to a $2,560 fine.
I hope he is convicted on all eight and given the maximum for each to be served consecutively. The nature of this "harassment" is so egregious it should have a hate crime multiplier.

(15,525 posts)once it hits the courts. I would imagine there's probably lawyers lining up. And the argument will follow that this is self evidently meant as humor. Without any element of eminent threat or intent. And so very clearly free speech.
The fact that Hispanic business was targeted here adds an element of racism - but without direct threat, it remains to be seen whether that will be enough to override the foregoing.
To be clear - I think it is hateful, ugly, and damaging to the public space - (along with about zero 'humor' involved) - but that doesn't preclude free speech.

(13,455 posts)But given the tinderbox that has been created by calls for "elimination" of the "migrant" threat (you notice they no longer distinguish status - the calls to action from Trump and MAGA are now aimed at all non-white migrants, regardless of documentation status), this poster strikes me as about as humorous as a burning cross. It is incitement to violence, whatever the so called "humorous" intention of the perpetrator.

As disgusting (and as we both argue, dangerous) as the BoogieBoys, the ProudBoys, the KKK and DJTrump are ....
