1. I've had one all black cat. He was very aloof with me but loved my husband.

Years ago I read on some animal org site to keep your black cats inside the entire month of October & also a few days before & on Friday the 13th.

12. Cat dealers don't release black cats the week before Halloween

There’s been too many instances of assholes buying them for Halloween decorations then abandoning them, or killing them on Halloween night. I found this out when I tried to adopt one three days before Halloween and learned I couldn’t take her home til November 1. So I paid the fee and picked her up the day after Halloween.

Manx, they are - a rumpy and a stumpy. Also former foster dad to yet another black cat and, yes, this one has a tail. I’m watching his antics right now. I’ve had three previous black cats in my life. I don’t count the one that ended a relationship for me by peeing in my shoes.

Her owner's don't give her much attention but they do provide her with food and shelter (the garage with an open door). She has petters of all ages who she allows to give her the attention she deserves.

She has beautiful blue eyes.

7. I always go into our shelter looking for a black cat...

… but I let the cat pick me and so far, the closest I've come is a tortie.

8. I have two black cats

I have an old stray outside that just sort of moved in. Then there is the dainty little girl inside. There are two others as well.

Love our black cat with gorgeous green eyes! Such a sweetie! Spends a lot of time in a nest in the chicken coop...he discovered that it is cozy curled up in straw, and neighborhood cats leave him alone. And if a chicken wants to lay an egg in there, well she will just have go to the other coop!

a coworker of my then-boyfriend who was allergic to cats saw a black kitten with a broken leg in a parking lot - put him in a box, strapped it on his motorcycle and brought him to work - we got a vet to fix his leg and then he was ours

... her sister – who is NOT black – is named Smokey, for her gray, ever so slightly calico, coloring. Burt Reynolds would be proud. I'm not so sure about Gleason. I've got a personal story about him I'll share another time.

I couldn't even name them all. We started adopting them when I was a kid because my mom had heard they had a more difficult time finding homes.
When my brother and I went on to have our own homes we each adopted black cats. I've had four, my brother four or five.
Then the practice spread to in-laws.
So yeah, lottsa' black cats here.

Our family took in cats of all colors as they came to us, but the next time we have a chance to adopt from a shelter we will pick a black kitty.

23. I love mini panthers!

I've had so many kitties in my life; all rescues and all wonderful and loving; one pure black and one tuxedo, with many brown, gray, orange and white tabbies and other colors, including a couple of dilute calicos.

I know from my own experience and the experiences of friends and families that black kitties often have sweet and friendly personalities.

Missy just wanted to mark it I suppose.

She some how knew it was a mat with a picture of herself on it I think.

I'm glad I managed to get a picture of it as she's never done this again.

I use this mat as a place for her dry food to sit.

It was a great find IMO.
