(10,233 posts)If you leave the site for several minutes, you now get kicked out and have to sign back in. It wasnt like that before. A lot of times, I just dont feel like having to sign back in over and over, so I just use the site with the ads.

(5,050 posts)I hardly ever have to sign in,,,, I come & go multiple times a day. Is it a setting somewhere? Do you visit on your phone?

(8,975 posts)Make sure you tick the box to stay signed in next time it happens. If that fails, check that your browser isn't set to reject or delete DU's cookies. If all that still fails, maybe ask EarlG.

(26,091 posts)I know I was waiting for this week to re-up my star, which just expired.
In the meantime, I was offering advice to another DUer who asked a question. I don't know his/her circumstances and I'm not about to judge.
I stand by recommending AdBlock or UBlock. I use the former and I make a donation to its creators. It makes a world of difference outside of this site as well.

(9,333 posts)Its on almost every site I frequent. Raw Story, Washington Post, NY Times, ESPN, you name it. Every click opens another ad window. Inundated with them!!!!! Worst case - on my iPhone.
Finally so pissed off I looked around for an AdBlocker, found one, installed it and - Ads stopped!
Only drawback is you have to pay for the blocker.
2nd drawback - some sites see that you are using a blocker and ask you unblock them if you want to read on. I just move on

(1,773 posts)I plan to donate to DU after the first of the month, but until then, AdBlock works. July and August seems to be when most of my usual once a year bills come due, so money is tight. But it gets better, so I carry on.

But frankly, knowing, from PERSONAL experience, of the assault liberal forums, and liberals in certain forums masquerading as "liberal'
have LONG been under, a forum like DU is a RARE treasure and well worth a star membership.

(6,514 posts)A, Just saying is used when you complain or criticize another person in an attempt to make it less offensive.
B, a term coined to be used at the end of something insulting or offensive to take the heat off you when you say it.
So yeah, that was a very insightful, informative post of yours. just sayin'.

(159 posts)This site is very hard to use now because pop-up ad windows cover over the material I am trying to read. I have to close an ad window every five seconds or so. The buttons are so small that I often miss with my finger and get shunted to Amazon or Temu. Very frustrating to use this site now.
