On CNN, Donie reports from Chicago about the uncommitted delegates.
These delegates, who are strong supporters of the Palestinian cause, say they appreciate that Vice President Harris displays more empathy than President Biden regarding the situation in Gaza, but they are demanding more than words.
When asked whether their lack of support for Vice President Harris could help usher in another Trump presidency, the delegates, who represent around 700,000 uncommitted voters, say that is a question for the Harris campaign to answer, not them.

(81,177 posts)But I am an American first.
I am most certainly not going to burn down the US and destroy democracy
for a foreign country, no matter what my ties are to that country.
And if I am an elected US official my allegiance should be to the US.
I would hang my head in shame if I betrayed the US.

She is their only chance to get what they want.
But it appears what they want has nothing to do with GAZA.

(39,135 posts)Benedict Donald and Bibi are attached at the hip -- dirty birds of a feather stick together. I care about Palestinians too but come on. Biden and Harris have only so much influence and there's no way in hell that we're going to cut off Israel. Sorry, but these one-issue purists are so tiresome.

They can do annoying things like call for a "roll call" vote.
I don't know if they can be escorted out if they become disruptive. Or how disruptive they need to be before they can be escorted out.
Think. Again.
(22,456 posts)It's nice to give some thought to what anyone who didn't vote for her might have been thinking, but right now the fight is between Harris and trump.

(1,230 posts)A: Harris has all the committed delegates she needs to secure the nomination, and B: the only reason the story ran is because the CNN corporate overlords secure more profits if the election is viewed as a close race. Everything CNN reports concerning the election is to further that end. Very unreliable, irresponsible and self-serving, IMO.

(4,983 posts)Always.
Here we are, on the verge of losing our very democracy in this country, the country where these people live, but somehow thats secondary to some bullshit that has been going on for a thousand years, thousands of miles from here and has nothing to do with us.
Thats the important thing here. Not keeping up the great momentum and energy were building to stave off dictatorship, not keeping this country heading in the right direction, no, thats not important at all.
Im sorry but what happens over there is the very least of our worries.
