Sec Buttigieg: That's why those stories just break Trump's brain. He cannot comprehend that kind of sacrifice

Kyle Griffin
Secretary Buttigieg: "I'm not a retired naval officer, but I did proudly serve in the Naval Reserve. I remember when I went to officer training in Newport, Rhode Island, outside every one of our rooms they put a little biography of just one of the people from the Navy who won the Medal of Honor and a little write-up of how they got that Medal of Honor.

"You would feel about this big compared to these people. And maybe that's why those stories just break Donald Trump's brain. He literally cannot comprehend that kind of sacrifice. And he certainly cannot comprehend a concept of politics that is not about you, not about your glorification, but about what you can do to make other people better off."

Trump is a sociopath and I think this just breaks his thought process and he hasn't even learned how to just fake it well.

Our military personnel do not win the Medal of Honor. They earn it. Often with blood, sometimes with their life.

You win sports ball games and talent shows and games of chance. You earn the Medal of Honor through courage, self-sacrifice, and determination to put the greater good above your own.

He cheats in real estate/business deals and brags about it, because "isn't that the whole idea? to get the better deal?" paraphrased.

He cheats the IRS because it's the "government". - paraphrased.

He makes fun of Servicemen, Veterans, and Soldiers killed in action, calling them "suckers".

Didn't serve & wouldn't let his children serve in the Armed Services.

etc, etc, etc, FUCK HIM etc, etc, etc

Rajneeshee cult (deliberately contaminated salad bars in ten restaurants in The Dalles, Oregon with salmonella to poison hundreds of people. The goal was to incapacitate the voting population so that their candidates would win the Wasco County elections. The attack was the first and largest bioterrorist attack in U.S. history, resulting in 751 people becoming sick and 45 being hospitalized (Wikipedia),

“That was a big day, Medal of Honor. Nothing like the Medal of Honor,” he continued. “I wanted one, but they told me I don’t qualify, Woody. I said, ‘Can I give it to myself anyway?’ They said, ‘I don’t think that’s a good idea.’”

The president’s assessment that he should receive the nation’s highest award for acts of military valor followed his statement earlier Wednesday afternoon that he is “the chosen one” in relation to his administration’s trade conflict with China — a proclamation he turned to the sky to deliver.

Trump never served in the military and was granted five draft deferments — four for college and one for bone spurs in his heel.

He got the Distinguished Service medal for his part
in the Battle of Leyte Gulf.

And you know what? He never showed it to us kids
or talked about it.

All he ever said was that the heroes were the ones
who died.

At his funeral the Navy did a very fine ceremony
with the gun salute.

It moved us all greatly, and it was a complete
surprise to me because he was alwasy so humble
about his service.
