Not enough to meet the hype. It's likely provocateurs will be corralled by the main body of protesters. I don't think they will have the logistics to support a large protest over four days. Porto-potties, a stage, and a sound system won't be enough. The protest organizers will have to provide those at their expense as well.

I would bill the organizers for trash pickup as well.

... it's obviously the criminal Netanyahu. All on his own.

Don't like what that has befallen the Palestinians? Go over to Tel Aviv and scream at that criminal. You should have gone to Milwaukee a month ago and screamed at ReTHUGlican boot-lickers for Netanyahu.

Joe & Kamala & Antony B have repeatedly helped negotiate deals that would have freed hostages, set up cease-fires, enhanced more dialogue between the 2 sides, etc. Each time something Netanyahu said or did something on his own to torch all those progressive steps and send everyone back to Square One. Oh, and indirectly KILL hundreds more Palestianian civilians who were "in the way".

To swarm Chicago with this pointless bleating is just stupid.

... because Netanyahu has created nothing but a deepening mess since he regained power. He has managed to LOWER Israel to the level of its enemies. He has redoubled efforts to stymie any serious negotiations for lasting peace with surrounding muslim countries. It has gotten to the point where nobody on one side can trust anybody on the others.

My entire 70-year life has seen US coddling and enabling of Israel's every responsive action when provoked, and looking away as Israel did pre-emptive strikes and assassinations in other countries. Israel CERTAINLY HAS RIGHTS to defend itself from outside aggressions and respond in-kind. But Israel under Netanyahu, spurred on by the right-wing party and citizens, has been terrible about reforming itself into a GOOD NEIGHBOR, by working hard at opening and maintaining dialogues with its enemies. Those enemy countries are highly to blame, due to their primitive religious beliefs and clinging to generational irrational hatreds and perpetual revenge. But it takes two to tango ... no problem is insurmountable given mutual patience, listening, dialogue, and negotiating ... and Israel just has never played "the bigger person" and tried hard enough to LEAD the way to develop lasting peace.

The sooner Netanyahu is forced OUT for good, the sooner that this process might have a chance at re-starting. The perpetual feuding is just a stupid way to try and exist. The U.S.G. really should stop favoring and stocking Israel in this never-ending mess, until they decide to change their own leadership and set out on a smarter course.

14. I was referring to US policy for decades PRIOR to 10/7
Mon Aug 19, 2024, 02:31 PM

The U.S.G. was largely in knee-jerk lockstep with anything Israel thought and did, up until 10/7.
They received endless supplies, money, and unconditional guarantees that we would never stop.

Yet, nothing in the last 20+ years has been undertaken to SERIOUSLY negotiate peace. That's on both sides, and the muslims have a preponderance of blame for never giving an inch on their byzantine religious insanities and generations of irrational hatred of Jews. But look at Israel, have they REALLY TRIED do be the "better man" over so long a period? You cannot tell me Israel has REALLY TRIED to separate ITS OWN centuries of religious nuttery and hatred of muslims away from running its seemingly modern government and to outwardly TRY to co-exist.

And, attempting to equivalence/scale-up 10/7 casualties into an outcome isn't appropriate, either.
Too many differences in too many categories. Apples vs submarines.

Where was Netanyahu and the IDF response for the first 10-12 hours of 10/7?

Where was the research/intel that should have fore-told what Hamas ultimately did on 10/7?

Why was Netanyahu financing Hamas prior to 10/7?

are more interesting in dividing Democrats than addressing the problem.

Netanyahu and Hamas want Trump to win. Dividing Democrats helps Trump to help Netanyahu and Hamas. The protesters are doing their best to see Trump, Netanyahu, and Hamas win.

Right now there are tons of media in town, but there isn't much "Democratic Party" news, so they are focusing on the protesters.

They will then pivot to critiquing all the speakers...grhhh.... This will leave the protesters in the dust, but then they will be saying negative things about our speakers...grhhh...

There could be some drama within the convention, but doubt it will be more than a few loudmouths.
