DNC: There are fewer than 2,000 protesters in Chicago's Union Park

CHICAGO — Organizers of the Coalition to March on the DNC had predicted a crowd of tens of thousands as recently as Monday morning, noting that buses of protesters had arrived from out of state. But by afternoon, spare protest signs littered the ground and fewer than 2,000 protesters filled a portion of Chicago’s Union Park, according to police stationed nearby who had surveyed the area with a drone.

6. Absolutely nothing wrong with this, the Party is perfectly capable of

coping with citizens freely taking advantage of their constitutional rights to expression. One hopes that on-going talks are also going on between the DNC and the leadership of the protest groups. Cooler heads should know that they will get nothing but backlash if they in any way hurt the ticket, and that a Trump Presidency will do the Palestinian cause no good at all.

10. I had an idle guess or two the concern of wide-spread violence

has been overplayed by for-profit media, drama-junkies, and unpublished authors.

Fingers crossed this is a good indicator that the protests will remain as such. If I see evidence to the contrary in the coming days, I'll re-evaluate my positions. Until then, I'm thankful the orchestra stays put in the pit while the actors take the stage.

I walked across the border at the Paso Del Norte bridge and looked around. Hardly anyone there even in the tent shelters. It seems reporting has been reduced to copying what someone said.

Passionate advocacy is how things change. Personal attacks, physical intimidation, or violence are unacceptable. If they slow things down outside the United Center and attract the attention of journalists to make their statements, that's fair.
